I was lucky enough to experience a month of training at Esalen in Big Sur, CA, where I received a 100 hour certification in Esalen Massage. An Esalen Massage is an inward journey rather than a therapeutic treatment. Through long strokes, a slow pace, and pauses, you are invited to return to your natural state of balance and alignment. Mixing in deep tissue and other modalities creates what I feel is the perfect massage.

To me, tulips represent re-emergence. After a dark winter, I’ve always loved the vibrancy of spring. Tulips are one of the first flowers to pop up in the spring.

My connection with tulips also goes back to Easter with decorating eggs, people busting out their vibrant clothes, the colorful decorations, and of course all of the bulbs blooming. It has always been my favorite time of year to be around my family.

When I harvested flowers the other day, I was looking at my hands covered in dirt and said, “This is my happy place. This is where I want to be.” I love everything about growing and harvesting flowers.
