Keep an eye on your mailbox — a little holiday cheer is headed your way soon!

Our receptionist and practice manager have also been hard at work in their spare time, turning the clinic into a winter wonderland. We’ve been making paper garlands and hanging snowflakes, the holiday spirit is officially in full swing!

And that he IS — just like the Elton John song!

Meet Levon! He’s full of energy, obsessed with treats, has the cutest little rubber lip, and sporting an absolutely adorable underbite.

He visited Dr. Golden today for his annual exam, lab work, and vaccines — and lucky for him, everything looked excellent.

And speaking of that adorable underbite… his mom is thinking about getting the outline of his bottom teeth tattooed on her arm.

It’s that time of year again—our annual reminder of what you should and should not feed your pets on Thanksgiving! 🦃🐾

Animal hospitals are always hopping the day after Thanksgiving and Christmas with pancreatitis cases, and we definitely don’t want you to have to spend your precious family time with us.

🚫 DON’T feed your pets:
• Raw meats
• Turkey skin
• Bones
• Stuffing
• Mashed potatoes
• Garlic or onions
• Chocolate or candy
• Grapes or raisins
• Any overly fatty foods

DO (small nibbles):
• Unseasoned turkey
• Pumpkin or apple slices
• Raw green beans
• Sweet potatoes

Yesterday our staff attended CPR training with the amazing Jacque from SAVES! We spent an hour and a half learning the most up-to-date CPR techniques, practicing compressions, and running mock codes on a dog dummy, Daisy.

We also discovered that Golden from K-Pop Demon Hunters and Pink Pony Club by Chappell Roan have the perfect CPR beat. So yes, our team was absolutely singing Pink Pony Club while taking turns perfecting our skills.

Yes yes, we know was in town this weekend! 🦎✨

We always recommend fully setting up your new pet’s home and researching all of their needs before bringing a new family member home.

If you DID bring home a new scaly friend, this is your reminder that reptiles need yearly exams and routine fecals too! 💩

If this is your first time owning a particular species, it’s always a great idea to review proper husbandry with your vet or vet tech. Keeping up with correct humidity, heat, supplements, diet, and substrate is key to keeping these cool animals happy and healthy!
