Yesterday was a full day of learning!🤓 From 8am-5pm we learned all the nitty gritty details about dental radiology! 🩻

We were able to practice positioning and taking X-rays on different sized patient’s mouths. 🦷
We are excited to be implementing this new technology in our clinic and be able to better care for your pets! Thanks to Patricia Marsh (RVT, VTS- dentistry) for spending the day with us and filling our brains with knowledge! 🧠

Tomorrow is a BIG DAY for us! Unfortunately, we have not purchased the Jetson’s cool ray guns🔫but we are finally getting our dental x-ray training!🦷

We have been eagerly awaiting this day for many years now! Soon we will be taking x-rays 🩻 on every patient we do a dental cleaning on. Two-thirds of the tooth resides under the gum line so this will allow us to more accurately assess the health of your pets teeth.

We will be closed all day Thursday (12/11) for this training. If you have an emergency please contact VEG on Hendersonville rd.

P.S. if you don’t know what the Jetsons are we suggest you take a lazy Sunday to binge the series📺🪐🛸

Searching for some new fuzzy additions to add to your household? Look no further!!!👀

Meet Waffles and Maple (aka the Breakfast Club🍳)! Their previous owners abandoned them in a cage in a mobile home. Luckily for these bunnies, a contractor found them and contacted Bouncing Bunny Rescue. 🐇

They recently both got spayed here at Pinnacle and seem to be healthy.🩺 They are a bonded pair, and must be adopted together! 👯‍♀️

Please remember that adopting rabbits can be up to a 10 year commitment and we recommend annual exams, routine fecals, and keeping them up to date on their RHDV vaccine. They generally do not do well in cages, and we recommend having a room dedicated to them or a large play pen attached to their cage.

If interested in adopting this fuzzy pair please e-mail Alicia Armstrong at [email protected] 📧

“I said brrrr it’s cold in here!” And that’s exactly what Miss Ginger is saying today. 🥶

Cold weather generally makes older pets arthritis and joint pain act up. With this chilly weather( the high is 36 degrees today and honestly, we are personally offended) make sure to provide joint supplements like Glycoflex, Cosequin, or Dasuquin. Provide cozy bedding and even heating pads! If taking walks you can even consider getting your pet a trendy jacket!🧤🧣

If you have questions or concerns about your pets joint pain or arthritis don’t hesitate to give us a call. We can discuss options! ❄️

Happy Pancreatitis day! (This isn’t actually a real thing but it SHOULD be.)Animal hospitals see the most cases of pancreatitis the day after Thanksgiving! 🦃This is because many pets are fed fatty foods and table scraps, or they counter surf and help themselves to what they please.
🥗🍗🥧

Pancreatitis isn’t exactly the diagnosis for Missy but it’s a similar situation! Missy here enjoyed a tasty square of dark chocolate 🍫. Chocolate consumption is also a very common problem around the holidays. Luckily, Missy’s owners were able to get her to us in a reasonable amount of time so we could make her vomit. In the video above Katie D is placing Clevor drops in both of her eyes, which induces vomiting. Within 10 minutes she had vomited up lots of undigested food and the chocolate!

Sorry you had to go through all of that Missy but we hope you enjoyed your brief and hopefully ONLY taste of Chocolate.

It’s TURKEY time…. Or maybe it’s TOFURKEY time🦃! Regardless of your dietary preferences we are thankful for YOU! 🫵

We will be closed tomorrow so our staff can spend quality time with their families, watch the Macy’s Day Parade and of course, to allow them time to binge eat deviled eggs.

We will re-open for normal business hours Friday the 29th! If your pet decides to have a medical emergency tomorrow (what unfortunate timing and what a way to ruin a holiday!) don’t hesitate to reach out to VEG on Hendersonville road.

LAST MINUTE WORDS OF WISDOM FROM DR. MCMULLAN: “PLEASE don’t feed your pet gravy…. Or butter…. Or turkey bones! Please!”

Arlo came in today to check a heartworm test. Ferrets, just like many other species, can get heartworms just like dogs! 🦟🪱

We have been trying to figure out the cause of his mysterious green urine. This can sometimes be a sign of heart ♥️ disease in ferrets, hence the heartworm test. He also has adrenal cortical disease which is very common in these little guys. Arlo has a Suprelorin implant under his skin to manage these symptoms.

Regardless of everything he’s got going on we think he is the cutest worm snake around! 🐍

It’s puppy spay Monday! Today we have two adorable puppies here for their spay! 🥰

Lacie is a 7 month old blue merle frenchie with the biggest personality and Honey James is a 6 month old snuggly dachshund. We couldn’t choose a favorite even if we tried. They are both perfect. 💯Both of these pups have had their pre-meds in these pictures so they are looking a bit sleepy! 😴

We do most of our spays between the ages of 4-6 months because it reduces their chance of mammary cancer by 98% and with every successive heat the risk increases by 3%.

Molly came in for her dental on this snowy morning!❄️ We recommend having your pets’ mouth looked at, at each annual visit, to make sure they have healthy teeth and gums. Luckily for her, she didn’t have any extractions and her teeth cleaned up nicely! 🦷

This afternoon our tech Amy has been swaddling her and carrying her around like a baby while she remains in her sleepy, post-anesthetic state! 🥱

What’s better than cuddling a snuggly Westie on a chilly day!?! Thanks for visiting us today Molly! We hope you love your new clean smile!😃

Today we got to meet the cutest piece of cereal. 🥣This is Corn Pop! He is very sweet but not very crispy and we do not recommend eating him for breakfast. 🚫

Corn Pop came in today to get established. He was the perfect patient for his blood draw and vaccines. His owner says he enjoys riding on her shoulder at home like a parrot! 🦜

We are a big fan of sweet kitties and he definitely made our day a bit sweeter! Just like the cereal description says! 🍭

It’s an exciting day today at Pinnacle! That’s because it’s Piper’s (aka The Snowman☃️)9th birthday! 🎉🥳🎊

We are glad that visiting us was part of her birthday celebration. However, it wasn’t part of her personal plan for her big day. We did sing her happy birthday and gave her lots of treats but it didn’t seem to cheer her up. 😭🤷🏻‍♀️

Today, Piper came to see us for her right eye that has been bothering her. We are hoping our gift of medicine, song, and treats might make her day at least a LITTLE better. We love you Piper! We hope you celebrate the rest of the day with squirrel chasing, your favorite foods, and lots of love from your family! 🎉🎂

Good morning clients of Pinnacle! ☀️👋🏼

Recently, we have been receiving more and more questions or requests for appointments on our Instagram or Facebook accounts. While we LOVE to hear from you, and how your pet is doing, this is not the place to do so. Commonly, Katie D is laying in bed 🛌 and seeing your questions at 11:00 at night which isn’t helpful for anyone. We use our social media for sharing our adorable patients’ faces 🐶and sometimes for embarrassing our staff members.😂

We have multiple tools for you to contact us about your pet. Calling 📞 (828-676-2332) or texting📱the office is the most time efficient. You can also always e-mail us at [email protected] or request an appointment on the PetDesk app or on our website.

Please don’t hesitate to contact us! THATS WHAT WE ARE HERE FOR💙📞💚 Just make sure you are doing it in a way that allows us to better serve you and your pet!

Today is National Cat Day🐈‍⬛ This holiday is celebrated annually on Oct 29th.

This is Kevin and he is a stylish 5 yr old Sphynx. We got to meet him today for the first time and we are so glad he did. We can’t handle how cute he is in his little orange jacket. 🧥

Today is a great reason to spoil your feline friend with extra treats, extended play time, and maybe even order that fancy cat heating mat that’s been sitting in your Amazon cart since last winter!❄️🧾

It’s also a good day to donate to local cat organizations like , and . 💰

Post your favorite picture of your cat below to partake in celebrating this wonderful holiday with us!📸🐱

And for our last post for staff appreciation week we would like to recognize our amazing front desk staff! 📞

Stephanie - Stephanie is our hospital manager and has been with us for 12 years. She’s a technical wiz and can fix anything. She could honestly probably fix a rocket ship if she needed to. 🚀She is thoughtful baker🎂. She’s also capable of staying calm in pure chaos. She gives off real mother hen 🐓 vibes with our staff and we are so grateful for that.

Taylor- Taylor is our head receptionist and really holds down the fort. She has a calming presence that we all appreciate. If you have a birding dog it’s possible she might steal it. She knows how to do anything and everything here at the hospital, and we truly could not replace her. She recently had a baby boy, and we couldn’t be more excited for her! 👶🏻

Alexis- Alexis has been with us for 1 year. She’s a witch, but like a good witch. 🧙‍♀️Basically, she’s Glenda from The Wizard of Oz but dressed in black with flawless winged eyeliner. She teaches us about crystals and sometimes even makes us jewelry. She is truly the most loving, considerate, and caring person. She has added so much to our team, and is very passionate about reptiles and cats🖤

Bree- Bree has been with us for about 8 months. And wow, what a wild ride this has been! 🐎JUST KIDDING! Bree is sassy and feisty and you can never predict what’s going to come out of her mouth next. She’s our resident ferret lady and we love it!

We are so grateful for all of our front desk staff! They are the face of Pinnacle and wouldn’t couldn’t choose a better group of ladies!

This post is to celebrate our VA’s! 🩺

Heather- Heather has been with us around 10 years. She’s Disney and reggae 🎶 obsessed. You can be sure that if she is opening the hospital, our staff will be stuck listening to Stick Figure for the first half of the day. (Much to some of our staff’s delight and a tiny touch of hell for the others.) She’s also our star groomer and can make even the most matted pet look stunning!

Katie D- Katie has been with us 7 years. She’s our go to girl on exotic husbandry🐍 and angry cat handling. She is also in charge of our social media. If you hear singing in the back of the hospital we promise you it’s her. (Really, we have to listen to her sing the top 40 hits for 9 hours a day 🎤) She keeps us laughing by slow dancing with herself in the treatment area or gagging at stinky p**p samples. 💩

Jemmy- Jemmy has been with us 3 years. They love Guinea pigs, pit bulls, and frogs and have an obsession Moo Deng the baby Pygmy hippo 🦛(understandable). You can commonly catch them sitting in a patch of moss out back on their lunch break enjoying nature and avoiding being perceived.

Sam- Sam is the newest member of our team and we are so glad to have her! She’s been with us off and on for 2 years but just recently signed on to work with us year round! (We are like… really excited about this🥳) She is also Disney obsessed and you can always catch her sporting a different Disney themed purse. She’s quiet but hilarious and truly a team player.

These folks also play a vital role in our hospital and we believe we have collected the best around! ⭐️

Today brings Vet Tech Week/ Staff Appreciation week to an end. This post is to celebrate our RVTs. To become an RVT one must complete a 2 year program and then pass a state board exam. They are then required to renew their license every other year and complete 12 hours of continuing education every cycle.

Katie W- Katie🩺 is our head tech and has been with us 11 years. She has an obsession with hound dogs and is the absolute best at reading dogs’ behavior as well as imitating dogs’ reverse sneezes. (Please ask her to demonstrate next time you see her. It’s worth it. Promise.) She keeps the morale up in the back by dancing to songs like “Africa” by Toto.

Amy- Amy has been with 8 years. She has an affinity for golden retrievers and geriatric patients. You can commonly find her comforting our post surgery patients by carrying and bouncing them like newborn babies 👶🏻 and wrapping their heads in towels and calling them her “little babushkas”.

Aubrey- Aubrey has been with us 7 years and is the best cat intubator around. We like to refer to her as “lil skrimp 🍤🕶️” because she is the small but fierce. Don’t let her steal your Boston terrier. She might just tell you it ran away🤷🏻‍♀️.

We are so thankful for these 3 ladies and wouldn’t be the team we are without them. 🏆
