Shadow is microchipped! If you find a kitten matching his description, his microchip can be scanned at the nearest vet's office, clinic, or animal shelter. Please help us continue our search so we can get Shadow reunited with his adopter!

Considering bringing home your first fur baby?! Meet Luna, one of our ‘longtimers’ who is currently benefiting from a wonderful foster home. She may be a little shy to start but warms up fairly quick with bribery in the form of treats, belly rubs and couch-potato time. Especially during these hot summer days, Luna prefers to be in her backyard for short playtime sessions rather than out walking. Who thinks intake has been too quiet?

We received an email today from our friends at ACCT Philly about a surrender request for 25+ zebra finches. Of course we said yes.

When one family became aware of a neighbor's health struggles and the desperate situation with his bird, they stepped in right way to assist and seek further help. The birds are reported to be way overcrowded int heir current cage, some missing feathers, some are pecking/ attacking others. The helping family also estimates it is closer to 40+ birds. The birds are of all ages, including some tiny hatchlings.

We are coordinating right now with them and are expecting the birds this weekend.

Please help us prepare for this huge intake. We have cages from the last big bird intake, but need some extra food, perches, bowls and wound care items to make sure they are comfortable while we help them.

Meet Margie. Margie is a 9 week old labradoodle who was surrendered to us by her previous owner who felt like they were in over their head with getting a puppy. Margie is 14 lbs and a total sweetheart. She loves other dogs and loves water!

Happy y’all, it’s a beautiful day and we have some furever BFFs just waiting to be discovered. Meet Evie, Flora, Maisy, and Midge! 4 female Russian Dwarf hamsters who are ready to find their forever homes. They are all 2 months old and each only weighs 1 ounce! So small! 🐹
Because they are so young, many of them are not used to being held and handled, we recommend adopters be patient with them as they adjust. Meet these tiny cuties at our Lahaska shelter today!
