Let’s talk ticks since they are HORRIBLE this year. 😮 As many of you know I try to use natural or minimal chemical options. I stopped using topical’s several years ago as I saw the amount of reactions and side effects. So I went to a yard spray 2 times a year. My 🐶 beds are washed regularly & I spray with a natural flea & tick spray if I suspect any issues. My dogs get food grade diatomaceous earth once a week in their food (natural wormer) & it can be used sprinkled in their coats & in their yard as a natural bug deterrent. (Avoid their eye area as it is crushed up shells & irritating). Tons of people are reporting excessive ticks this year & lymes is very debilitating. If your dog has a tick or diagnosed with lymes Ledum is a good natural option. Here’s some links:

Chunky butt Ms Turtle the Merle is still looking for her forever home. My ideal home for her would be an only dog home (though she can tolerate other dogs w her bossy personality 🤣). She’s used to a fenced yard & loves being w you. House trained, leash trained & loves to ride in the car. Proficient at yodeling & a reliable alarm clock. Reduced adoption fee for the perfect home.

Well the X-ray confirmed what my gut had been telling me. No puppies. 😢

As many of you know I’ve slowly been reducing my girls trying to inevitably retire from raising Frenchies after 15 years. But it honestly is one of my biggest joys of my life 🐾 even with the hours of sleep I’ve lost, weeks taken off work & the tears I’ve cried over the few I’ve lost. Regardless of what most people think it isn’t a path to riches for us small in home breeders. For every healthy litter there is a girl like Turtle who didn’t take after several tries & then lost her whole litter so was spayed never having been a mom. Almost all of the dogs I’ve had since I first fell in love with Frenchies in 2009 were bred/raised by me except my original imports from Hungary. My very 1st litter from my girl Piglet had an AKC champion in it. I cannot tell you how much more I could have made per pup by selling each pup with full AKC to other breeders. Because I chose not to, because I felt they would have to their best life in pet homes just bringing someone as much joy as they brought me. So that’s why you’ll understand why after watching Boo G (formerly Peanut Brittle) grow into an amazing adult now I decided to breed her to Smokey last month. She is not confirmed bred. Her pups would be due the middle of April. But I wanted to let those of you know who had been thinking of wanting a Maverick pup as my program winds down to start planning, scheming how to convince your significant other 🤣 & praying for a healthy litter. She is scheduled for an xray in a few weeks so I will post an update then. Thank you to my loyal followers who have shared this journey with me of being blessed to have met a Frenchie!

Turtle knows something is up. We are waiting for her spay appointment. Sad I never was able to snuggle any baby Turtles but couldn’t go thru losing another litter. Stay tuned for some hopefully good news coming up though.
