From her first coues deer.... to her 2nd. From her 1st lion to her 3rd...... It has been quite the 14 months for Samantha the Huntress. Sadly she might be done lion hunting with Layne and I but her goal was a Pope and Young Tom this year with her Bow and I’m pretty sure we surpassed that this go round!

We had an awesome Memorial Day weekend out with the dogs. A huge congrats to Jeremy with his first lion. Its bittersweet with the season closing in just a few days, these dogs are rocking an we cant wait for the fall!

My dad always told me I’d always be second best because every Joe Schmo you meet on the road is gonna be better than you, or have better dogs than you.

Those words are the most valuable i believe Ive ever heard. We do pretty good thanks to that philosophy.

We had the opportunity to get and be in the turkey woods this mornin. And boy are we glad we were, we got to be apart of this young man taking not only his first turkey but his first big game animal! Congrats Holden

Since the wind was blowing all day Wild Bill Chitwood and I gave the dogs a day off and drove a couple hours to cooler country to check some stuff that hadn’t been checked in about 4 months.

We found yet another big tom to add to the hit list.

It’s too bad we don’t have a hunter this week! One of our target Toms crossed yesterday.

The dogs did a great job. We were about 6.5 hours behind when we checked these spots. I’d say we have him patterned pretty well.......

When you hunt with our team we always have at least one specific lion that we are targeting. I believe this is why we are consistently harvesting large mature Toms.

This ones on the list right now. We were supposed to hunt him this week but COVID-19 cancelled that.

Is there any better way to social distance than to be hunting the mountains of Arizona?

Well over the weekend we started a new tradition ol wild bill Chitwood killed yet another jumbo tom. 361 days from his last behemoth!
