Huge thank you to Dr. David Jaskey and Lisa Jaskey for their generous donation!

Lisa Jaskey shared, "I've been around dogs (and cats) my whole life. As you know, dogs need mental stimulation and lots of exercise in order to live their best lives. What better way to help our best buddies live their very best lives than to create a special space just for them where they can meet and socialize, run and play to their hearts content with lots of other dogs? That’s what the Barkadelphia Dog Park will provide! My husband Dave and I are thrilled to help sponsor this much needed, safe space for all the dogs in our community.

The Barkadelphia Dog Park is not just about dogs though. It will also be a much-needed community asset that will help attract new businesses and industry with dog-loving employees. I’m hoping that the dog park will attract a dog obedience trainer to town!

I want to thank my fellow members of the Leadership Clark County Class of 2019 for unanimously approving the creation of a dog park as our class project. They have supported this project with their time, creativity and financial contributions. Thank you, City of Arkadelphia, for your support in helping us get this project to completion. We’re almost there!

The Jaskeys hope to see your dogs and you at the Barkadelphia Dog Park real soon. We’re almost there! (By the way, my cats are so jealous!)"

The Ruckers shared, "The Barkadelphia Community Dog Park will provide the dog owners in our city with the opportunity to spend productive outdoor time with their canine companions in an environment previously unavailable. The idea of a well-equipped dog park should give all dog owners that like to spend outdoor time with their pets something to look forward to in the very near future. We should feel fortunate to be able to have such a facility."

Huge thank you to Taylor King Law, P.A. for their generous donation!

Taylor shared, "The Barkadelphia Dog Park is a much-needed addition to our community. I think the past year has given us all a new appreciation for our pets and how much they add to our lives. I'm happy to support a project that will provide a safe space for dogs and their owners to enjoy the outdoors. My golden retriever, Honey, is looking forward to her first visit!"

Thanks to our gracious donors, we are over halfway to our financial goal of making Barkadelphia a reality.

In order to fully reach our goals, we've applied for the PetSafe Brand Bark for Your Park grant! We find out on August 3 if we are one of the finalists! We'll need your help to vote and share this project with as many people as possible! 🐶🐾

PetSafe® has donated more than $1.5 million to support more than 70 off-leash dog parks in the United States.

Here are a few examples of the Gyms For Dogs - Natural Dog Park Products that we would love to have at the Barkadelphia Dog Park. In addition to equipment, we envision dog related programs happening at our future park!

What type of dog related programs would you be interested in attending at the dog park (such as agility demonstrations, obedience classes, adoption events, or doggy birthday parties)?

One of the locations that we are considering for the Barkadelphia Dog Park is the old Feaster softball field. It would conveniently connect Feaster Park and Feaster Trail and would provide lots of space for the dogs of our community to run around!

Speaking of our canine community, we would love to see your dog friends that you would love to visit Barkadelphia in the comments! 🐶

There is another location that we are looking at, but we don't have all the details yet. We hope to share more info with you on this other location in the coming weeks!

Arkadelphia needs a dog park! We are working to make this happen for the great City of Arkadelphia!

Let us tell you a little about ourselves. We are the Arkadelphia Alliance and Area Chamber of Commerce 's 2019 Leadership Clark County Class VIII. Every Leadership Clark County Class picks projects to improve our community.

Our group unanimously chose this dog park as our project. We worked tirelessly raising funds in 2019. Like the rest of the world, this project was impacted and put on hold due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

We are excited to get the ball rolling again! Over the next several weeks, we will share our progress and ways you can help make this dog park a reality!

In the meantime, help us get the word out about the Barkadelphia Dog Park! Share this post and tag friends and family who would take their pups to Barkadelphia Dog Park!
