Food choices for 8-weeks old Goldendoodle.

Purina Pro Plan is excellent. I would start her on the chicken blend, just because LOTS of dog foods and treats include chicken. This way you’ll be able to know relatively early on if she has any chicken allergy. Move on to a more specialty protein only if she has allergy issues.

As for the sport blend, I don’t think you will need it. I think that is formulated specifically for sporting breeds that will be working. The regular blend should be just fine.

When to switch to adult food?

-My female standard goldendoodle will be 11 months on Nov. 4th. She is the last few days of her heat (bleeding stopped about 2 weeks ago, still a little swollen), and she has drastically minimized how much of her puppy food she is eating and when.
-She is currently eating purina one large breed puppy chicken and rice (have not had any problems so think we got lucky with chicken allergies), and WAS eating about 5-6 cups a day spread across 3 meals.
-As if the last week she doesn't want breakfast, will kinda eat 1-1.5 cups around 1 or 2pm, then eat 2 full cups at dinner time around 730pm, but is not gobbling it up like she used to.
-does this sound like typical doodle pickiness or time to start a slow transition to adult food?

Per vet instructions we switched at 1 year old. She ate Purina Chicken and Rice as a puppy but started refusing it shortly after age 1, had a hard time finding a replacement. She now eats Purina Turkey and Venison and loves it.
