I’m so proud of these LINC students! They got excited to be part of the homecoming parade yesterday! They designed the “float” and worked hard to get it done! Then rode horses in front of it!!

Our extra trail horses are going to wonderful homes next month!!! Thank you to all of you who shared my post. We have one more that we will sell at some point as he’s going to be too tall for us!

Sully is one of the foals we adopted and is now 2.5 years old, 16.2 hands tall and growing. He is a gorgeous Percheron TB and in your pocket type who begs for attention! He has great ground manners, hauls well, and stands perfect for farrier. He was sent to “boot camp” in March and did great. We have our a few rides on him but will now let him mature more until 3 years before we ride more. He’s available now for 6carrots. I could see him going in many directions with his size and athleticism. Who wants to scoop him up?

All horses have found wonderful homes pending pick up in late August.

It's time to find great homes for our extra horses at Bighorn Ranch! We do not plan to offer riding to the public next year. All the horses below are still available at the time of this post. Please message me if you are interested. They cannot leave Bighorn Ranch until August 17th. You can make a deposit (lease) and ride them here until then. This way you know they are a great fit for you!

All horses are ridden by beginner kids all the time. All come with a saddle, bridle, pads, Coggins, bill of sale, and health information.

Elvis, 15 years old appendix QH gelding. 16 hands chestnut. w/t/c easily but not much speed. Excellent trail horse. He is being shown in 4H so he needs to be available to the 4H member until August 25th. $4000

Koda, 11-year-old Morgan mare, 14.1 hands. liver chestnut. super smooth trot and lope. $5000

Charlie, 6 years old, 15-hand gelding, blonde draft cross (Belgian or Haflinger/QH cross) $5000

Majik, 7-year-old Arabian mare 14.1 hands bay mare. Majik is great for kids that like some go. She has been hauled to barrel races and rodeos and camped overnight. She had placed in the 3D and 4D at local races. $7000

We do offer boarding and would love to board any of these wonderful horses for you. Our boarding rates start at $275/month.

Unfortunately this is one reason we are not offering trail rides any longer. There are too many inconsiderate drivers of vehicles, atvs and utvs that must believe horses don’t belong along a township road. Things have really changed in Big Flats over the last 10 years. There are new homes going up on Bighorn Avenue and a lot more traffic. The two new owners that bought lots that incorporate the beginning of the snowmobile trail that we were using no longer want horses on it. That means we have to ride along Bighorn Avenue for a half a mile to get to the DNR easement land. It’s just not worth it to us anymore to take the risk of other people being considerate of large groups of beginner riders on the horses. I know that all of you following our page are not those inconsiderate people. Please know that we have always loved your business you gave us. We had 17 years of wonderful times sharing our horses with you on the trail. We will continue to share our horses with people who want to take lessons and want to come to our horse camp program in the summer.

We are looking for someone with tillage equipment to spread our compost and then rip up our 5-acre pasture so we can re-seed it. It was flooded in 2019 and 2020 and weeds have taken it over. It could be done soon as the ground was thawed before this cold snap this week.
