I just have to brag on my amazing girl Sophie. She has not only been an excellent mom to her 4 puppies but she is raising Olives puppies as her own and loves them all so much. She normally sleeps in our bed with us and now that she has these pups, she still comes to bed with us, but runs down and feeds them every couple hours. If she hears a p*ep, she’s there in an instant.

l shouldn’t be surprised because her own mom, Bambi, Borislav Sovilj was the most incredible mom dog I have ever had the pleasure of witnessing. Bambi wouldn’t even leave the whelping box for the first 24-48 hours to p*e or poo. She was so protective of her babies and she let them nurse up to the day they went to their new families. These two girls are both super nurturers and I couldn’t be more proud or more appreciative of the way they raise their babies.

Today we started crate training as they are now 4 weeks old. (Olive x Vinnie)

Everyone did great. We start off with 2 in a crate together for about 30 minutes. We will slowly increase the time and put then in their own crates eventually.

I’m a little late posting these pics. The Lion/Lamb litter of Sophie and Nash’s opened their eyes on Friday right on schedule at 2 weeks old.

So we are almost halfway there with raising the older litter and they are now very interested in solid food. Today I am introducing the “littles” to puppy mush and they are figuring it out fast!

These 3 musketeers from Olive and Vinnies litter are my latest obsession. Fun fact for those who don’t know this, these pups are roan (color pattern) and they are the most fun of all the colors of lagotti. They are always changing and often end up looking similar to a faded brown dog but will be constantly changing throughout their lives. They start out looking exactly the same as the white-w brown markings and slowly their noses and paws start to get darker and darker and their hair starts coming in darker underneath their white coats.

We are pleased to announce that our 3 young breeding prospects have passed their OFA and Penn hip exams with flying colors.

Penny 9 months .47 and .41 (Penn hip) (Bred by Giene Keyes)

Jack 10 months .21 and .24 (Penn hip) (Co owned with Borislav Sovilj)

Timbur 2 years OFA (Good)
(Co owned with Ellen N. Beattie)

We plan to start shows soon and excited to see how they do!

There’s a few milestones in these pups lives that I just love. The first one is when they open their eyes. Today, all but one little guy has opened one or both of their eyes. Enjoy - next favorite age is 4 weeks. They really start showing their little personalities. Stay tuned. This time goes by so fast!

March comes in like a lion and out like a lamb - just like Sophie’s new litter. We have two little lambs and 2 little lions. These sweet babies were born Friday the 7th and all are strong and healthy. We have a special little girl whose color is very unique to our breed. (All puppies are reserved.)

King Charles just got a Lagotto!

The monarch, 76, is said to be 'besotted' with the Lagotto Romagnolo breed of puppy, affectionally dubbed S***f, which arrived last month, as a private gift to the King.

We had a long break between litters so we decided to spend time in Hawaii between Christmas and New Years. Well, our girls were being minded by our daughter and of course, they both chose this time to go in season.

Our daughter Katie Salzman was tasked with coordinating the breeding and I have to say, she did a very good job! Having a vet assistant in the family comes in handy at times like this.

So with all that being said, we decided to name Olives litter “the Aloha litter” with special thanks to Katie for making this possible.

Newbliss is thrilled to announce the birth of our Vinnie x Olive litter, which arrived on 2/26. Photos of each puppy will be shared soon. The litter consists of 8 healthy puppies, made up of 5 boys and 3 girls. (All puppies are reserved)

Today was so fun. We met some old and new friends at the Lagotto meetup. Phoebe, our foundation dog and first ever Lagotto made an appearance and reunited with of her puppies. Several littermates reconnected as well. Thanks everyone who braved the weather to visit and share your Lagotto love. ❤️ Thanks to Happy Tails Ranch for letting us use your facility.
