Did someone say that treats during the weekend don’t count?!?! Molly thinks that sounds fantastic! Molly is a 2 year old lab/shepherd mix who weighs about 55 lbs. Molly is a very sweet girl who walks really well on a leash and loves to behind the ear scratches and belly rubs! She has a friendly and confident disposition and gets along with other dogs (we’ve been told she gets along with cats as well but we can’t verify that). Molly has a great temperament and would make a wonderful addition to any home! If you’d like to make an appointment to meet Molly, please give us a call!

Well Donald’s birthday month came and went without one request for a meet n greet. While that makes us sad, we can at least be comforted knowing that he doesn’t know. He does know that a wonderful person from this community dropped off a birthday present for him (thank you kind soul!). So let’s make this a September to remember and get Donald adopted! He needs an adults only home with an experienced owner who’s going to take the time to get to know him (will take a few meeting) and a fenced in backyard. We know it’s a big ask but we also know this home is out there. So let’s find it! If you’d like to meet Donald, please call us to make an appointment. Her name says it all! Such a big personality in a tiny, soft body! This beautiful girl is playful, friendly, outgoing, and so very fun to be around. She does have a chronic virus that is not degenerative or debilitating, but it does cause her eyes to become runny and irritated periodically. However, that does not slow her down one bit!

Attention everyone, we’d like to introduce you to our newest front desk staff member- Summer! Summer is a one year old Shepherd mix who weighs about 35 lbs. She is an energetic dog who likes other dogs (selectively) and loves to go for walks and play. Summer adores affection and attention and is not shy about asking for it either! She has a sweet and confident demeanor and her coat is super soft! You’ll love snuggling with this lovely young lady! ***UPDATE*** Mama Diamond had 2 more pups overnight for a total of 10 pups! Everyone is well. We will post an updated pic at a later date when Diamond and pups aren’t so exhausted.

We have a wonderful news to share - Diamond had her puppies today! Seven could be seen on the x-ray but an 8th surprised us! All 8 pups and mama are doing well. They were all attended to by wonderful volunteers today - not that Diamond needed help as she knew exactly what to do! She’s already a wonderful but exhausted mama!

Thank you again to the wonderful people who donated from our puppy list! Including the 4 that Dusty gave birth to 2 weeks ago, we now have 12 pups under our care! We couldn’t take care of them without your generosity so thank you very very much!

Woof Wednesday is brought to you by beautiful June! This sweet young lady has been with us a long time and it’s starting to get to her a little. She’s still got a great disposition and loves to go on walks or play but she’s depressed in her kennel and we can’t blame her. She longs for a home of her own with active humans that want to help her work off her energy and then hang out on the couch after. Our sweet boy Kobe was adopted !!!
He came to the shelter in 2021. He was found by the police in the southern suburbs wandering the streets. He did have a chip, but the owner was contacted and did not want him back☹️. Somebody adopted him a few months later. They kept him for two years and then brought him back to the shelter — 40 lbs. heavier then when he left 😮 . He went on a diet and lost a significant amount of weight. A nice lady saw his picture on our website and thought that he was very photogenic and wanted to come meet
him. They hit it off right away. Now he is living in a nice house with a great family!! I can’t think of any dog who deserves this more. Have the best life Kobe. !!❤️🐶

As we mentioned before, Dusty wasn’t our only pregnant female. May we introduce- Diamond. Diamond is about 4 years old and was surrendered because her owner couldn’t care for her. No one had any idea that Diamond was pregnant. We’ve been told there are about 7 babies in there and she’s due in a week or so (although Mother Nature might have something to say about that!). We tried to do a maternity shoot but Diamond was way more interested in snuggling, getting loads of pets and sniffing all the things. She’s resting comfortably at Buddy and we are ready when she’s ready to deliver.

Thank you again to everyone who donated something off of our puppy list. Because of all of you, we are ready for all the pups under our care - and those soon to arrive! We will let you know when this sweet mama has delivered.
