Working on his “back” command in different areas and on different surfaces. The grate bridge can feel a little disorienting for him, which is why we practice it to help with his proprioception. What was also good was Titus being distracted by that little Chihuahua Titus has reactivity issues with dogs so by working this command in areas where the likelihood of other dogs to be present helps him with his reactivity. Continuing Titus’ back hind leg training. I’ve started to find tune and focus the target so Titus will have a smaller target to back his legs up on. As you can see this is difficult for him as dog’s anatomy makes it challenging for them to place their hind legs 180degrees behind them. You can also see that Titus starts to lick his lips to help calm his confusion as to what I am asking him to do. He is more than willing to perform this task. I am patient with him as he learns. This is our third week of consistently working on Titus’ back leg strength. He is really starting to get the hang of his proprioception.
I’m so happy to say Ziggy has finished is training program!!! This is not the end only the beginning of something new! Marcia and Ziggy have come so far in the time we have been working together. Ziggy started off being afraid of any people and loud noises. Now, is able to go into stores and be excited for life. All thanks to his owner Marcia putting in the work to recreate their relationship. That is what this is all about. The relationship you have with your dogs.

I’m so excited! I got to host and lead my very first group class! Though it was just the 4 of us more are on the way for next week! Thanks to Ziggy and his mom for coming out and enjoying the heat during this pro social way of introducing dogs. Pack walks are so vital if you want to properly introduce a dog to one another. The two boys did perfect and would you guess they both have reactivity issues!?!? When you are calm, cool, and collected and have the intent in your mind that you got this the dogs will understand and be more at ease.
