I’m so happy to say Ziggy has finished is training program!!! This is not the end only the beginning of something new! Marcia and Ziggy have come so far in the time we have been working together. Ziggy started off being afraid of any people and loud noises. Now, is able to go into stores and be excited for life. All thanks to his owner Marcia putting in the work to recreate their relationship. That is what this is all about. The relationship you have with your dogs.

I’m so excited! I got to host and lead my very first group class! Though it was just the 4 of us more are on the way for next week! Thanks to Ziggy and his mom for coming out and enjoying the heat during this pro social way of introducing dogs. Pack walks are so vital if you want to properly introduce a dog to one another. The two boys did perfect and would you guess they both have reactivity issues!?!? When you are calm, cool, and collected and have the intent in your mind that you got this the dogs will understand and be more at ease.

This writing was done by one of my mentors and teachers in dog training. I could not agree more with his words.

You need to take this to heart. If you have dogs, are a handler, a trainer, a groomer, a Vet, it is not about tools, techniques, methods, books, etc. It just isn’t all of that BS. Period. It is about YOU!

If you aren’t willing to put in the work on yourself, none of the rest of it matters. If you do not study the subject (the dog and EVERYTHING about dogs), and every possible aspect, nothing you do or how you do it will be as effective as it could be. Yes, it takes going beyond your comfort zone, all the time. It is hard, long and sometimes tedious work. No one becomes an “expert” overnight, or in 10 years. Maybe in 50 years of doing something, IF you haven’t bought into your own marketing hype.

What is knowledge without skill? What is skill without understanding and getting actual feedback (having the knowledge and understanding of the subject (dogs) to correctly receive feedback)?

What do all of these elements have in common? YOU! It is YOU that must change. Not in getting “harder” at being you (ego). But in realizing more about nature and to stop fighting with it to mold it into what you want. Nature has its own rhythm, pace, beauty, communication, form, time. Stop trying to crush it to your will. Learn what it is. Be willing to be humble. I see few that are.

It is you that must change. And that is the most difficult thing.

What a wonderful moment to capture. This was at the end of our 2nd session. Ziggy the 13 year old terrier mix with his owner Marcia. I had just introduced them to the game of “follow the dog” the object of this game is to just follow your dog and do what they do. This picture was taken right after Marcia bent over and started sniffing the bushes where Ziggy was sniffing. As you can see, Ziggy was more the pleased to have his mom join him in his world. Do activities with your dog that THEY find important. Your relationship and love will grow exponentially. I promise you that!

This is Ziggy! He is an 11 year old terrier mix. For being 11 he is still very physically active. I hope to have his energy when I’m his age. We are working on his anxiety when it comes to thunderstorms. All he needs is a little guidance and to start trusting on his mom. That comes with relationship and already the two of them are showing so much growth!

Just got done with Kash the 7month old ! His owners have a new baby on the way so it’s time to help this guy along with boundary setting and teaching him not to chew walls. He is so SMART and willing to learn. Very sweet energy. It’s a privilege to be working with him.

Titus and I working environmental agility. What is that? It’s anything that can replicate a natural hunt for dogs and wolfs in the wild. Have your dog sniff, jump over, jump on, climb under/over any object you may find on your walks. Be creative! It’s so much fun and your dogs will love it. Try to do these activities right before you feed your pups.

I got to watch this little guy for the day! His name is Teddy and I just find him such a hoot. He is so hyper and just wants to live life on his own terms. I like him. He is looking for humans to communicate with him and once I started to in a way he understands he just lit up!

Just wanted to give a shout out to my Boy Titus. He was in the car with me for 12 straight hours as we went from seeing patient to patient. It was a very long day. When we got home he went straight for his bed he be a sleepy boy. He is with out a doubt my ride or die. Love you Mr. Wiggles.

Having fun with Titus in my break. Something that I struggle with is feeling like I don’t put in enough time with my personal dog. People who know me would roll their eyes at that statement. But, we all have insecurities. Something that helps me with my busy Schedual is setting a timer to help me focus on uninterrupted Titus and I time. I either do 15-20mins of us just doing whatever. Today was environmental agility in a parking lot while I was in between seeing human patients, (I am also a Hospice Nurse just FYI). Just being with your dog is all they really need to feel loved and fulfilled. Anyway, hope this helps you with your own dog days!

I introduced a new scent for Titus to find. Cypress! It can be found on Amazon. This is a scent Titus has never smelled before. Something to keep this game exciting. This is perfect for rainy days or if you are not feeling well and want to fulfill your dog. Nose work is one of the most powerful activities you can do with your dog. Join them in their universe and they will love you forever!

Meet Heartly! This 4 month old Maltese is a bundle of cute energy. Her mom just signed up with a 3 private lesson with me at . She will be my first client since moving down to Texas and I could not be more excited! We will be working in her puppy biting, spacial awareness, and general house rules to start with. Surprised Titus with a new snake 🐍 toy they are his absolute favorite! This is him post making sure that snake is dead in his tracks. I wanted to not worry to much about “training” but focus more on having fun with him. It’s a lesson I need to learn myself so why not practice with Titus?

Potato 🥔 has found his new forever home 🏡

I just got done dropping him off to this lovely young couple who I know will provide Potato with his best life. I am so thankful for Potato coming into my life. What a joy he is and the lessons I learned will stay with me forever. He was such an amazing teacher. I can say I really do love this little bug 🐛

Though I am sad to see him go, I know he is we’re he belongs. Congrats to Potato!!! 🥔

It’s been one full week since Mr. Potato 🥔 came into our lives here! Since then we have been working on some routine and structure to help him have stability in his new environment. This morning I wanted to just play and be with him. He decided he wanted some connection by laying in my lap. I usually don’t allow dogs on top of me due to it being a swing of possession. However, just like with all things in life there are exceptions to the rules. This little spud has been through a lot of changes and has been nothing but a trooper adapting to my life style. He deserves to have a little Love Bug 🐞 time I think. If anyone is interested in adopting this little foster guy feel free to message me!

Progress update! Potato 🥔 is adapting really well to my oh so chaotic Schedual! Thankfully this little spud is up for the rides. He comes with me in the car everywhere I go and has no issues what so ever being in the crate. His potty training is darn near perfect which astounds me at his age. There has been a lot of interest in adopting this Sweet Potato but if you are one of them please feel free to reach out!
