Happy Monday! 🗓️

We’re kicking off the week by refreshing the basics with my own dogs!📋 Even seasoned dogs benefit from practicing foundational skills like “place.” It’s a great way to reinforce trust, focus, and communication. 🐕

Their excitement is often the ONLY reason we want them to meet another dog.
They can drag us (often at speed), towards another dog they want to meet.
Even with the happiest/friendliest dog that pulls towards another dog....things can change in an instant once they actually meet.💥
Sometimes the over excitement of seeing another dog means they haven't assessed the situation and often we haven't assessed the situation either, we just want to make them happy!
Face to face, tight leads and over excitement when meeting another dog can and does lead to very big issues.
Take the time to assess.
Take the time to teach your dog how to meet dogs in a way many dogs appreciate!

Wow, what a weekend at the Wenatchee Kennel Club dog show!

Mable took 1st place all three days in the Novice B Obedience ring with scores of 196, 191, and 195.5. While she already has her CD, we’re working to boost her points to get her into the top ten for Australian Shepherds! She’s truly a once-in-a-lifetime dog, and I’m so incredibly proud of her.💜

Knox had a great weekend too! He earned the last two legs needed for his PCD title! It’s been so fun getting back into the obedience ring after our hiatus earlier this year.

Knox and I are honored to announce that we will be attending the 11th American Kennel Club Obedience Classic this December in Orlando, Florida! 🎉 We’ve worked hard to get here, and I couldn’t be more proud of my boy. I’m also excited to catch up with everyone—it’s going to be a great time!

Arlington’s 2nd Annual Pet Paw-rade is only a few weekends away!

Come join us in Arlington for our cutest event of the year! We are so excited to make this event bigger and better than last year.

A fun and educational parade held in combination with Arlington Farmers Market, we will have pet vendors aplenty, a talent show, a costume contest, and of course, the parade with dozens of different dog breeds showcased by breed group! (Herding, working, terrier, toy, sporting, non-sporting, and hounds)

This year we have all our breed group sections of the parade as well as a Bark Trek friends section of the parade. Save-A-Mutt will be leading the way with the “rescued” group, if you adopted your dog or don’t have an idea what breeds they’re mixed with!

Walk ‘n Wag adventures with my best girls today! 🐾 From socializing our 17 week old Beauceron pup to fine-tuning skills with our 2.5 year old Aussie, it was a fun day packed with lots of training opportunities!
