Don’t forget to be careful with your puppies and not let them on Furniture without supervision!! The most common reason that we see a fracture in puppies is from them jumping off the couch or some sort of furniture and landing wrong… this little sweet baby should heal well but will likely be in a splint/cast for 6 to 8 weeks!♥️🎄⭐️
What a cutie!!!🥰😍
THANK YOU to everyone who came out last night to help make our Trunk or Treat a smashing success!!😆♥️ We all had SO much fun seeing all the costumes, kiddos, and pets who came out to see us!!! We are so grateful to have so many wonderful clients and patients, and we are already looking forward to next year!!🎃👻🐾
In case you ever wonder what happens when we take your pet out of the exam room and into the back of the clinic …. 🥰😂
Unless you don’t like for your fur baby to get LOTS of love and attention (and the occasional pet-parent approved treat)… you never have to worry when they are with us! Your babies are always in loving hands 🏥🫶🏼

We hate seeing an injured pet come into our clinic 😢 But we love when we can help them heal 😍
Meet Scully, a chihuahua puppy who fractured three metatarsal bones. After 6 weeks of diligent splinting and careful bandage changes every 1-2 weeks, Scully is now fully recovered.
Whether your pet is recovering from an injury, feeling under the weather, or simply due for routine vaccinations, you can count on our team to provide care and support 🏥🐾
If you have a dog or cat, you just never know what they will get into 😳
This sweet 1-year-old Ragdoll kitty had no history of ingesting things he shouldn’t. His mom never saw him chewing on anything. She only knew something was wrong because for several days he was vomiting and had diarrhea.
After an exam and imaging, we discovered that he had some type of foreign object in his stomach and intestines.
We went in surgically, and there it was—a “popper toy” in his stomach and a piece of it moving through his intestines.
Luckily, we were able to remove it, and he is on the mend 🙏🏻❤️
What is the craziest thing your pet has ingested?!

⚠️🐶‼️ A potentially deadly tick borne illness is in our region!!
We have diagnosed multiple cases of Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever (RMSV)🦠
So far, two dogs have already been diagnosed with the disease at our hospital alone.
Though two cases may not sound like a lot, that is the equivalent of what our clinic sees in three to four years!!!
RMSF is a potentially deadly bacterial infection transmitted through the bite of infected ticks. In Tennessee, the American dog tick is typically the species that transmits the RMSF organism.
While our pets are often the first indicators of the presence of RMSF in our environment, pets and humans alike can be susceptible to RMSF, which can lead to severe complications and even be deadly if not diagnosed and treated promptly.
Thank you @wreg3 for helping us get the word out!!
Please like and share to further help us warn the public so they can take preventative measures and be on the lookout 🙏🏻
‼️WARNING ‼️Be careful if your Memorial Day Weekend plans (or summer plans in general) involve your dog and sand 🐶🏝️
What you are looking at are x-rays of a dog that came in to see us for uncontrollable vomiting after a beach trip!
After an exam and x-rays, we found the culprit — SAND IMPACTION!!
That’s right. The dog ate a bunch of sand while on vacation, which caused a blockage in the intestines and made the dog very sick.
Luckily, we were able to move the blockage out with IV fluids and GI meds.
For those of you taking your pup somewhere with sand, it’s crucial to be vigilant and prevent them from ingesting large amounts of sand. While small quantities may pass through their digestive system without issue, a significant intake could lead to impaction!
Common symptoms of sand impaction include:
- Vomiting
- Constipation
- Loss of appetite
- Appearing to have belly pain
- Extreme or unusual lethargy after visiting a place with sand.
If you notice any of these symptoms in your dog, whether it’s a few hours or a few days after exposure to sand, you should get your pup to a vet asap. Early intervention is key to preventing further complications.
Dog and cat moms are moms too 🐾💕 Happy Mother’s Day to all the moms out there… especially all our moms who have kids with fur here at Arlington Pet Hospital and Resort 🐶🐱

The temperatures are rising here in Tennessee and with that comes flea and tick season.
These resilient parasites thrive in warm and humid weather, posing a threat to both pets and humans alike.
Fleas, with their hardy lifespan of six to 12 months, can cause significant discomfort and even lead to flea-bite anemia in pets.
Ticks, on the other hand, can transmit dangerous diseases such as Lyme disease and Rocky Mountain spotted fever to both animals and humans.
Don’t wait until it’s too late to protect your furry friend and your family! Give us a call to talk about parasite preventatives today! #parasitepreventionmonth #parasiteprevention #fleaandtickprevention
