š FOSTER NEEDED NOW š SENIOR š
Hello,
I am writing to inquire about surrendering our 12-year-old Kelpie mix (32 lbs). Her name is Dixie and sheās a sweet dog, but about two months ago my five-year-old stepson who is very high energy put his face too close to hers and she bit him. He had one small puncture wound that didnāt require stitches and some scratches on his cheek. She has also growled at him in the past if he was playing too close to her. My wifeās ex-husband, who is very spiteful, is trying extremely hard to use the incident to make my wife look irresponsible and shed negative light on her with regards to their custody orders, so we are unable to keep the dog.
Are you able to take in a dog that has bitten before? Weāve had her posted on three different rehoming websites since the first week of December but havenāt heard anything. Weāve also asked family, friends, and everyone we know and havenāt found anyone willing to take her. At this point my mother-in-law, who has been dog sitting since the incident, isnāt willing to keep her any longer so itās looking like weāll have to euthanize her if we canāt find someone soon.
