Today I got the pleasure of delivering Gavin his puppy to his house.
As I drove into the driveway Gavin was pacing back and forth and waiting for me to show up.

Gavin has been through a lot at a young age ,losing his dad and then losing a piece of his dad all over again when his dog was shot

I’m very proud to be a part of his healing ❤️‍🩹 and make a small impact in his life.

The world is rough but it takes a village to come together and show that even though a tragedy happening , you still push forward and fight

Two puppies have went home and the rest to follow Friday and Saturday ❤️❤️❤️

The best and most rewarding part of my job is knowing these puppies are headed to amazing homes and will have a forever home that loves and cares for them.

Woke up to see some good news !!!!

They caught the person who shot that boy’s dog !!!

Thank you lord !!! This family has been on my mind continuously since hearing this story and I’m happy to hear they have found the person and put him behind bars !!
Thank you Carver County for taking this seriously enough to investigate it !!

The behind the scenes that no one sees me doing…

When people ask for my pricing and I get the response back of …. “Ohhh that’s way too much”

I can tell you it isn’t 🫣

My time isn’t cover when you think of how much I put into my daily cleaning supplies , training equipment, kennel equipment, repairs, replacements, essential updates, advertising, etc.

We miss out on those family trips, we don’t vacation, we take those small moments to do ice cream run, quick movie , dinner , etc.

This “job” is a labor of love ! Truly !
My husband works to support our family of 8
Me, well it’s pretty accurate to say the income I have that comes in goes right back to the business

We donate , we support , and we cherish the friendships and relationships this business has given us

I keep training costs low, yes I’m very well aware I’m way lower priced than anyone else, so why don’t I raise my prices???

I do this for you , for the single person, families, kids, communities, and for pure enjoyment for myself

I truly love being able to help people with their dogs and using dogs to make their lives just that much more enjoyable and fulfilling with a dog by their side

I know I’m not the only one in a business like this but it’s definitely a labor of love with the hours I spend training, whelping litters, and responding to people

Thank you all for being amazing clients and making me love my “ job “ just that much more !!!

Her owner is diabetic and this girl is a smart cookie on alerting her owner of low levels ❤️

She is a year old and I can’t be happier with her progress she is showing

We had the opportunity to meet the mother and two younger boys , they just moved to this farm site a couple months ago and the dog was their best friend.
We talked about how brave that boy was that day and if you ask me even lucky he wasn’t the one shot 😞

Hey guys ! Hope your having an Amazing day celebrating Fathers Day today !!!

I wanna give a shout out to my Dad-Doug Westphal for all his hard work and support he has given me to continue this family business

But on another serious note …. We were made aware of a horrible situation that happened yesterday to a mother with two boys, that tragically their dog was shot with a 22 shotgun- three times and ultimately had to be put to sleep due to the severity of the shots

We have reached out and graciously donated the Last Black Male to them out of Luna’s litter and they have accepted my offer

This family dog was taken away horrifically, but that dog was two young boys support system as they previously lost their dad

Too much suffering in this family, it was without hesitation we give them a puppy for their healing ❤️‍🩹

As all of you know, Westphal Retrievers is more than a business, it’s a chance to change lives and give support where it is needed. We want everyone to have the same experience of companionship that we have with our dogs. We want to be able to touch peoples hearts and give back to our communities when we are able too

This is something that my dad would have done and I haven’t even told him this story yet but we are hear to make our community stronger and show people there is still good people out there in this world !

Take a moment today as we celebrate Father’s Day and be grateful for everything that’s right in front our our faces daily we may not recognize that we are blessed with
