We had such a blast for opening day for Daycare PLUS at Ballston yesterday! We all enjoyed the "First Day of School" energy, and the whole canine crew got to explore each of the three play spaces.

Our activities this week are 1) just getting settled in, 2) beginning group sits / waits, especially in each new environment, and 3) practicing calm behaviors. In our new format, we are also able to bring in a whole new range of toys and beds and mats in a way we never could before. Oh, and snuggles. Lots and lots of snuggles.

Thank you to EVERYONE for your support as we made this crazy transition over the last six weeks. Your kind words and stories have made us feel very emotional (and I cannot even believe how many of you have memories with Laura from Ballston daycare all the way back to our most humble beginnings. We are so honored that you still trust us with your babies 22 years later. You are FAMILY.)

And thank you to our AMAZING daycare team, who has worked their tail off through the move, and were ready to go yesterday to make sure all of our pups feel welcome and acclimated to the new space. I can't believe how lucky we are to have such a great team.

We have a MAX 200 Dog walk in good shape. Will look like new if cleaned and painted. Used indoors only. Frame is solid. Some slats worn off. $400 OBO

We also have an aluminum frame breakaway tire $100 OBO

And a teeter plank $100 OBO. Teeter frame is available for free but needs repair.

Service Dog Training in Action! Maya and Esra went on their first flight together and it went great. Lots of hard work was put in for this moment. Maya remained cool, calm, and collected despite having delays. Maya offered chin rests to her person to support her. So proud of these two!!

Hi Friends! The current litter of the Bosun Dog Project is 6 weeks old today. These pups are doing great, are well on their way to being house trained, and are super friendly.

We are still looking for a few wonderful homes for these babies!!

TikTok famous dog trainers are taking over, and unfortunately that's not always a good thing. Does having 1 million Instagram followers make you a good dog trainer? Some of the information getting shared on social media is incorrect, ineffective, or downright dangerous. So how do you figure out who's who?

🐶 Look for credentials listed in the trainer bio. Don't see any? It's likely they don't have any. This is not a good thing. "I've had dogs for 20 years" is not a qualification.
🐶 Beware of sneaky marketing. Guarantees of behavior, promises to fix a problem in only a few minutes, or telling you that you "HAVE" to follow these rules are all red flags.
🐶 Impressive before and after videos that show massive behavior change in "only one session"? You may actually be seeing behavior suppression instead of actual behavior modification.
🐶 Pay attention to body language. We share A LOT about body language, and if you have a dog, you likely have some idea of what a relaxed dog looks like. Apply your knowledge to social media videos! Is the dog in the video panting heavily? Are their lips pulled back? Are their ears back? Do they look tense? Those are all signs of stress, anxiety, and fear...
