We are celebrating Kittery and our Kittery artists all month long. Come in to the shop to see this delightful heron hand carved by Barrie Munro. We have many other hand carved birds by Barrie, along with his hand made cheese boards.

Snow in May

Wild turkey having breakfast

Wild turkey arriving for their breakfast this morning. Sometimes they are full of gobble-gobble talk, but today they were oddly silent.

Alpin on shearing day.

This is what Alpin thinks of the whole shearing process. He screams like this every year. Actually, we had a lot of screamers this year.

Arlo pulling a pine bough down for a tasty snack. His half-brother Rumble having a taste of some birch leaves.

After spending most of rainy yesterday in the barn, this morning the girls are heading out to pasture with Poco (the Queen) in the lead.

Boys alarming at something in the field this morning. The crows were also going crazy. You can't see it in this video, but there was a coyote in the field. There was also a turkey. I'm afraid the coyote probably got one of the turkey babies that we saw last night. I guess coyotes have to eat too, and feed their young.

Arlo saw a deer in the field this morning.

Arlo sees something that concerns him, so he alerts the herd with his alarm call. It's probably just a wild turkey.

Girls impatiently waiting for Farmer John to finish getting their temporary grazing area ready for them this morning.

More cuteness. There is plenty of space for them on this side of Limerick Road, plus 2 ponds, but the adults had to lead them across the road anyway a few minutes ago. Looks like they all made it (at least this time)!
