Whisper, a three-month-old black Standard Poodle puppy, was born on 8/24/23. Currently he is 19 lbs. Whisper and his brother and sister came to Misfits from a person that had lost their home. (We can’t confirm, but this owner was a possible breeder). Shy and docile at first, he has quickly warmed up to everyone in his foster home. He is a dog that likes other dogs, but he would also do well as an only dog, because he wants nothing more than to be around his people. He is very well behaved and smart. He is working on potty training, but he is a puppy, so expect to have to continue with his house training. He is familiar with doggy doors. He’s not fond of traveling and gets car sick. His foster mom allows him to ride shotgun, which seems to help (your veterinarian can also provide medication to help with motion sickness). We will require a home with a fenced yard. The Poodle is an active, athletic breed that requires both physical activity and mental stimulation. We are looking for a home with owners that are active and will provide him with the training he needs. His adoption fee is $550. He comes up to date on shots, neutered, and microchipped. Anyone looking for a standard poodle puppy?

Mickey, a three-month-old Parti Standard Poodle puppy, was born on 8/3/23. Currently he is 23 pounds. Mickey and his brother and sister came to Misfits from a person that had lost their home. (We can’t confirm, but this owner was a possible breeder). Aside from being gorgeous, he has a wild streak. Mickey definitely fits the profile for a “party” poodle as he loves to run and play. He is super smart, independent, and confident enough to explore on his own without straying. He loves to be with people and does great with children. His foster mom is working with him to not jump on people and to stop his puppy mouthy behavior when he gets excited. He is working on potty training, but he is a puppy, so expect to have to continue with his house training. He is familiar with doggy doors. He likes to talk like a Husky (someone obviously forgot to give him the “you are a poodle” memo. LOL!). We will require a home with a fenced yard. These babies were so good and sweet. I loved grooming them!

I took my kids here for the first time and they were groomed exactly as I wanted. First time for Charlie’s grooming in 4 1/2 years. We will not go anywhere else!!

I will post some more cute pets here soon, I just been incredibly busy with the spring rush. But, I want thank all of my amazing clients out there. I do love all of your dogs and appreciate your business. My clients are really good about making me feel appreciated, whether by tips, gifts or referrals. I have a request for out of town people...take care of your groomers. We work hard and appreciate anything extra. I charge less because I work out of my home and my overhead is not as high. But, I LOVE the tips. I don't expect them, but they make it so when a client needs a last minute appointment or they are particularly picky, it's ok...it is really difficult to deal with clients with older dogs that show up late, tell you the wrong idea of what they want and then complain after and make you redo some of it and show up late again! All with no tip or appreciation! I do this as a second job and if I tell you it's going to take 45 min, please don't plan on leaving your dog for 1.5 hours on a weekday night or late on a Saturday. This is my public service announcement. Most people do tip the groomer, we go through more than a hair stylist. Their clients don't bite and wiggle. When I have a 15 year old poodle on my table that I have NEVER groomed, I am looking out for their safety and stress level. If the cut is not perfect, it's because I was worried about how they were doing..so communicate what you want and be on time and don't leave your dog at the groomers forever!

The dogs of the month belong to Tracy Packer. She has Chloe, Gizzy and Shaggy! I began grooming them during Covid and I love her and the dogs. She has let me get creative, so Chloe had her top knot and poms dyed purple, Gizzy currently has a Mohawk and Shaggy has a lion cut. 😀

So the dog of the week is Miss Sadie. She makes me laugh every time I groom her because she is the WIGGLIEST dog I have ever seen when we are near mom, but as soon as she gets on that grooming table, she is an absolute angel. I love her silly antics though and she is fun to groom. Her mom Lori, also designs and makes these awesome harnesses/dresses for the dogs. So the dog of the week is Ralphie. He is an Aussie Doodle who is around 2 years old. He is a sweet dog that LOVES to run and play and is very good at knotting himself up especially in the snow. But he tolerates the brushing even if he isn't very happy with me. He is named after the University of Colorado mascot and he loves doing tricks for his family. He is also very smart!

The dog of the day is Lily. She is spoiled, but an incredibly sweet poodle that I have groomed since she was about 4 months old. She loves her dresses and she has also sat through having her ears and tail dyed. She is a great dog and her mom spoils her rotten!!! She is also my profile pic because she loves to pose for pics. She has had a poodle face and mom keeps her in a teddy bear face now.

Today's pet of the day is Pooper Scooper or as mom affectionately calls him, Poopie Scoops! He has been coming to see me for about 10 years and is one my favorites. He is 14 years old now and is still sassy as ever! He has so much personality and he does so well with his haircut and bath and I look forward to seeing him every time!!

So today's dog of the day is Crosby. Crosby is a large Bernese Mountain dog and he lives in the mountains. He comes to see me 3-4 times a year and makes me laugh because he RUNS into the house and RUNS down to the basement and jumps up on the table and looks at me like, I am ready, let's do this. He is so patient for all his brushing and drying and I can't wait to groom his new brother, Sully.

Happy New Year! I am starting out the year with Mac and Hercules..they very large Standard Poodles that I have been grooming since they were 6 months old. The reason they get the first post of the year is because when I starting my own grooming business, Ben Garbooshian's dog Raven was the first dog I did in my new setup. So, I have known this family since 2003. I also enjoy grooming them because I get to to a Mohawk and dragon spike. Thank you for letting me groom them all this time.
