Today's Featured Auction Item - "Preparing for the Feast" by artist, John Weiss

One evening, while on the Turket Foot Lake in Akron, Ohio, artist John Weiss saw a family on their boat and the image really stuck with him. Musing on the subject of family relationships and making memories, he remembered a time when his own father rented a rowboat and took John and his brother fishing. The result of this inspiration is "Preparing for the Feast," a wonderfully backlit image of a father and son fishing with their faithful Golden Retriever.

Even as little as 5 minutes can be fatal to me and to my paws. My whole body starts boiling, but I’ll keep going because I am as loyal as loyal comes. Pupdate!

We adopted Sugar on May 11th and have been absolutely in love with her since the moment we met! I never thought we’d be so lucky to parent such a wonderful dog. She is perfect. We renamed her Cella (ch-ella) after our favorite Italian wine, Valpolicella. She is the most gentle dog, both with people and other animals, which is great because we lead a social lifestyle and I don’t have to worry about her in these situations. She acclimated immediately to our daily runs, so we’re really looking forward to expanding her horizons and taking her hiking and camping next month. Should be memorable for the three of us to sleep in our two-person tent! She loves to swim (and get bathed thereafter), help with yard work, converse with the squirrels, collect pinecones and prance through the herb garden. Afternoon naps to recover from our morning activities are also a high point. She’s an avid tennis-watcher. She would probably love to be in the court too, but we play in the adjacent fields for now. Her one downfall, she’s a sock-stealer, so we have to be careful there are no spare socks laying around that she can tuck away. In short, the three of us couldn’t be happier; she has completed our little family. She absolutely melts my heart and I can’t wait for all the years and adventures to come!

Thank you for your time and effort in finding new homes for all these sweet dogs. We couldn’t be more grateful for our experience with GRRR!

Our Miss Roxy is doing great! She's still pretty skittish around Derf, but she seems fine with me. We're still in negotiations about the use of the dog door. Roxy has really come around from that scared pup with her head down and tail between her legs! We hope she's so happy to be in her forever home! Here is a photo of her and Cooper relaxing!
