Sure, it’s easy to pass the buck, put the burden on trainers, social media, other kids, you name it—but sportsmanship starts with parents. As a mom, it’s my responsibility to guide my young riders and hold them accountable.

Reiner Klimke told us:
“The rider who is sitting a little bit forward, who doesn’t make himself heavy, is what I like. When I ride, I always try to not make myself heavy and bring the horse down, but to go with the movement and keep light, this is not one of our inventions."
And his daughter, Ingrid, shows us:

“Lungeing can complement training programs for horses and riders. We’re here to help you learn how to choose appropriate equipment and use safe techniques for lungeing for correct dressage training based on classical principles according to the Pyramid of Training,” co-clinicians Ann Guptill and Vicki Hammers-O’Neil told almost seventy auditors and participants at a USDF Dressage Development Seminar organized by the Connecticut Dressage Association (CDA).

The most important considerations for stirrup length are your horse’s comfort and your own balance and effectiveness as a rider.

Going to the Cure? WIN the Registration!!!!!!

Please enjoy your digital ribbon for being a good show participant!!!!!!

Help out our show managers by getting all your records into the show office. If you can send them electronically before the show, it makes everything go much more smoothly. We recommend that you carry printed copies of your records so you can be ready when you drive up.

Here are the details:

You must provide your coggins and vaccination records to Two White Feet but you must also provide to CHP at [email protected] as follows:
1. A current negative Coggins test is required for all horses entering the facility.
2. Statement of Health/Veterinary Health Certificate signed by a licensed veterinarian within 30 days of arrival
at CHP, documenting that the horse has:
A. Received regular and consistent vaccination against Equine Influenza and EHV 1 & 4 with the most recent booster being within 180 days. Written statements from Vet explaining the reasons for being bolstered within 180 days MAY be accepted. IN NO CASES MAY THE BOOSTER BE OUTSIDE OF 180 DAYS. Horses not in compliance with this rule will be denied entry to the competition grounds upon request by Management.
B. Not shown symptoms of or been treated for EHV-4/1 within the past 28 days.
C. Not been at a facility under quarantine for EHV-4/1 or exposed to any horses showing symptoms of EHV-4/1 within the past 28 days.
3. The following statement must be included on the health certificate:
“I have examined the animal(s) represented on this certificate of veterinary inspection and have found no clinical signs of vesicular stomatitis and they have not originated from a premises under quarantine for vesicular stomatitis”
4. Vaccination record showing date of vaccination against Equine Influenza and EHV 1 & 4 (booster must be within 180 days).

Once you submit your documentation to [email protected], you will be "pre-checked" and arrival on the show grounds will be much quicker, so please make sure you submit all your paperwork as soon as possible.

Thanks for helping the show run smoothly, and for avoiding last minute chaos.

Good luck at the show. If you are not showing, please come out and be a fan. We need you!!!

Each year, the USDF membership and governance representatives come together in early December for the Adequan®/USDF Annual Convention. Here, the most important business of the organization is conducted, important decisions are made, vital information is shared, future leaders are elected, dignitaries are recognized, and the past year of dressage in the US is celebrated. We couldn’t be more excited to bring the 2024 Adequan®/USDF Annual Convention to Houston, in USDF Region 9’s great state of Texas!

While the business, education, and special events that make up the convention agenda account for much of the attendees’ week’s activities, we would be remiss not to highlight many of the amazing extracurricular opportunities Houston and the area have to offer. Check out just a few of the many things USDF members can choose to partake in when they’re in town: https://yourdressage.org/2024/04/22/high-tailing-it-to-houston/
