Today is the birthday of my dear departed friend and someone I called family, . He was a very loved and loving Husband, Father, and grandfather. He was a war-time veteran, patriot, engineer, sculpture, painter, writer, and general artist at life. He drew this portrait of Buddy Rich and Dio for me many years ago, and it hangs proudly in my home. You are missed and loved by many. Happy birthday, John!

So proud of my wife and our boy Torleif! She took on 3 days of dog shows beginning on Friday, 4 months pregnant, on her Thirty-Nth birthday, nauseated, slightly sick (from me being sick prior), Little to no sleep for 2 nights (because I was hacking and sneezing all night) and still managed to pull off two majors and enough points to earn our boy his Champion Title!

Lulu, the proud conquerer! Dio has never been fond of puppies. Lulu was not bothersome, but he wanted some space and growled without just cause. So I placed her on top of him until he realized the error of his ways. Afterward, he was much more tolerant of her presence.

This is a Central Asian Ovcharka/Shepherd (aka. Alabai Shepherd), I have met very few of these over my 16-year career. They are a large and powerful breed, males like the one pictured can be 165 lbs at full maturity. They were bred for protection of livestock against wolves, bears, and, in some reports, even Siberian Tigers (likely just an exaggeration by Shepherds from remote areas of the Caucus Mountain region). Though they should be protective of their homes and family, this particular dog (who is about 150 lbs!) has been overly protective and displayed inappropriate behavior towards welcomed guests in his home. Aside from his owner and less than a handful of others, he has had a tendency to become aggressive towards men (hence the muzzle). I have been fascinated by this breed for many years and am very excited to work with this boy over the next few weeks.
