Amy kidded around 1 this morning. She usually has 4 but only 2 this time. The black one is a doe and the white one a buck.

My first time growing collard greens. Planning on canning them with some smoked turkey, broth, and red pepper flakes. Hope they taste as good as the Glory brand I get from the store.

Took the day off and all I did was play with baby goats, chickens, and rabbits. I did make goat milk chevre and caramel sauce last week. Next will be mozzarella.

Around 5 this morning, Amy was busy giving birth to 2 bucks and 2 does. She did a great job.

Amy was due to kid on Friday, so I'm using my 10 day vacation waiting and hoping she doesn't have 4 again like last year.

The baby chicks have grown alot. Ended up with 2 light brahma hens, 1 Rhode island red hen and 2 roosters, 1 giant white rock(i think) rooster, and of course my gorgeous white Breese rooster. I'll put him with my 4 hens and hopefully start hatching eggs by March for meat. I need to build 2 more coops to separate the breeds and find more hens but hoping to start only breeding Breese, Rhode Island Reds, and light Brahmas for meet and eggs.
Amy(black/grey goat) should deliver her kids at the end of February. So more milk to make soap and lotion soon.
This year is all about the homestead and getting back to the main reason we moved here.
