We would like to introduce you to four new faces! Meet Devereaux, Meri, Rosetta, and Xander. We partnered with Project M.E.O.W (Make Every One Wanted) to pull some cats from their rescue. Teamwork is a major player when it comes to rescue - by pulling cats from other shelters, we can help alleviate the stress and overwhelming intake that every single shelter is experiencing right now. We canāt do this work alone, and we are so grateful for the work Project Meow is doing to get cats off the streets and into loving homes. These kids will be on intake hold for the next week days, and then theyāll be ready for adoption and ready to meet everyone.
Last weekend, we got an urgent call from a fellow rescuer about a cat in serious trouble. Cheeks, as weāve come to call him, had shown up a colony ā but instead of finding safety, he was being badly beaten up by the other cats.
Once we saw Cheeks and his wounded body we knew the idea of putting him back outside felt more like a death sentence than a release. That's where we stepped in. He's no spring chicken-at least 8 years old, FIV+, and covered in wounds from fighting for survival.
Thanks to a kind trapper & foster, he had a safe place to stay for the first few nights. Thanks to City By The Sea Vet, he got the care he needed. Thanks to you, he has a real chance at a better life.
We just got his lab results back, and while his bloodwork looks good, he still needs time to heal, recover, and feel safe again-something he's likely never known.
This is why we do what we do. But we can't do it alone. Ongoing veterinary bills for cats like Cheeks have put a strain on our resources as of late, and donations have been down year after year.
Here's how you can help:
