Catsbury Park A 501(c)3 non-profit rescue and New Jerseys first cat cafe!
(1311)

We are a New Jersey 501(c) non-profit corporation with the goal of helping as many kittens and cats find loving homes through various channels. As many of you who followed us on social media might know, we started fostering out of our home in the summer of 2016 and were able to place 37 kittens with forever homes within our first 2 months. We also want to create a space where the public can learn

about cats, interact with them, and potentially take them home. We still hope to continue fostering kittens but Catsbury Park Tea House & Cat Lounge itself will focus on adult cats who, while available for adoption, are residents of the cafe and interact with customers. We also feel that Asbury Park, our favorite place, needs a tea lounge and have focused on providing high-end tea service to provide the best experience for those who come to spend time with our cats!

TIMMY!

If you’ve been to the lounge lately, you probably met Timmy. He was the only one eyed kitty we had at the lounge, and he was also a member of that crew of ten we took in after their owner had passed. He wanted nothing more than affection and our company - but he also needed his forever person to find him.

Just like rest of his crew, he was nervous and hesitant about us upon arrival but after spending some time in his incredible foster home, he felt comfortable enough to trust us and let us know he was ready to find his forever home.

Nayda and her family came to the lounge just to hangout with the cats, they had no intention of applying to adopt but Nayda’s 11 year old son Santino made an immediate connection with Timmy - so they decided to put an application in for him.

On her application, Nayda told us that her son “really connected with Timmy and has expressed that he feels like Timmy needs extra love and wishes he could live with us so he can be sure Timmy gets that love. And we all agree.”

We also agreed - and we were so happy to send Timmy to his forever home with his new BFF Santino! Timmy’s future was quite uncertain only a few months ago, and now he is surrounded by so much love.

Thank you Nayda for giving Timmy his home. We know he is in good hands with you and your family. Congratulations! We wish you many years of love and purrs.

ICE!

Ice came to Catsbury when she was just a little kitten; she was pulled from the hoarding situation we intervened on in Aug 2023. Her entire life up to this point was spent with us, and all of us watched her grow from that itty bitty kitten into the ball of energy she is now. To say that our team was perplexed as to why she hadn’t been adopted yet is an understatement.

If you’ve been following us for a while you’ll know that most of the cats from that situation had very bad teeth, and Ice was no expection. Thankfully, took care of her much needed dental procedure so she wouldn’t have any pain or issues with her mouth - and we are so thankful for their generosity.

Amy applied for pre-approval in December, and was ready to come down to the lounge to meet the adoptable kitties and see if she clicked with anyone. Well, seeing her email that said she wanted to adopt Ice actually brought tears to our eyes. Ice had been waiting so long to find her person, and Amy could not have been a more perfect fit for her. Amy saw all of the qualities in Ice that all of us had seen, and she was ready to make her home Ice’s home as well.

We are going to miss Ice, but knowing that she is absolutely spoiled and on to living her best life with a person who loves her and wants nothing more than for her to feel at home is exactly what our goal was. We have all been waiting so long to take that adoption photo of her!!

Amy - THANK YOU. Thank you for choosing to adopt and for opining your heart and your home to a cat very much in need. We wish you many years of love and purrs!!!!!

IGOR!!!

In early November of last year, Igor was found by a Good Samaritan when he was in their yard limping, struggling to move around. He was brought to NorthStar Vets where X-rays were performed that revealed multiple fractures to his hind end. The incredibly skilled doctors and nurses at NorthStar performed THREE ortho surgeries in order to save his life!!

After his surgeries, Igor came to Catsbury so we could monitor his recovery and ensure his movement was limited while he healed. When we say cats are resilient, we mean it! Despite everything Igor endured, you would never guess the challenges he faced, or how uncertain his future had seemed before he was rescued.

Enter Sarah and her daughter Ada, who joined our volunteer team last year. During one of their shifts, they met Igor and were instantly drawn to him. After careful consideration, Sarah reached out to ask about adopting Igor and to learn more about his medical care and any ongoing needs. Once our medical team provided the details, Sarah and her family were all in - they were ready to welcome Igor into their home!

Last week we had the joy of sending Igor home with Sarah and her family. Ada even created a special setup for Igor to help him feel comfortable in his new space. It’s safe to say Igor found the perfect forever home!

We can’t wait to hear updates about Igor and his new best friend Ada. To Sarah and your family - thank you for opening your home and hearts to Igor. We couldn’t be happier for all of you!

Also - how cute is this adoption photo ?!

BUBZ!

If you couldn’t tell by his monochromatic color scheme, Bubz is a member of the 10 cats that came to us when their owner had passed. Just like the rest of his crew, he was very shy and timid when he met us. It took him some time to warm up but once that nervousness was eased, he was able to let his personality shine and not oh boy does this boy have a lot of personally!

Justine started at Catsbury as an adopter, then a volunteer, and joined our staff team a few months ago. She knew she wanted to add another cat in need to her home, and when she met Bubz she saw something in him that told her he was the cat that she wanted to give a brand new life to.

Every adoption we do is special, because it means that a cat in need has found their home - and what’s what we’re here to do! Staff and volunteer adoptions are always a little extra special, because all of us get to watch these bonds form in real time over the weeks that the cats are with us. When Bubz arrived, he and Justine both had no idea that he had already found his person - so sending this boy home with her was a beautiful thing for all of us at Catsbury Park.

Your support, your shares, your donations, attending our events - all of it is for cats just like Bubz and we are forever grateful for that, because it means that these cats get a second chance. Seeing Bubz settled in his home is everything to us.

JUSTINE - THANK YOU!!! We know you’ll give Bubz all the love he needs, and then some. Thank you for adopting.

ROCKET & ZERO !

These sweet girls are the siblings of the Siamese kids we sent home last week. We knew we wanted to do our best to keep this litter in pairs; they were a bit shy and skittish and they relied on their siblings for comfort - and confidence.

Mike applied for pre-approval, and came down to the lounge to meet the adoptable cats. We were beyond excited when we got his post-visit email letting us know he wanted to adopt this pair!! We knew the girls would need an adopter that was patient and understood they would need some time to warm up and feel comfortable in their new surroundings - and Mike was 100% on board.

We got an update from Mike after the girls has settled in at home and we are so so SO happy to see them in their new digs. Mike - THANK YOU for giving these babies their forever home. We can’t wait to see them thrive and grow with you!!!

We’ll miss these cuties but we know they’re on to live their best lives with Mike. Thank you!!

Hi Catsbury Family!

Meet Malcolm! Last week, he stopped by Catsbury to drop off an incredible donation he raised entirely on his own through a fundraiser for our Catsbury cats!

Malcolm hosted a video game night at his house, inviting friends to join in the fun and support a cause close to his heart. In total he raised over $300 for the cats!!!!

We are truly inspired when young members of our community, like Malcolm, use their creativity and passion to support our mission. His game night is a perfect reminder that there are countless ways to make a difference - no matter what the cause.

Malcolm, you’re an inspiration to us all! From everyone at Catsbury Park, thank you for your amazing support.

Keep up the great work!

A huge thank you to Cat's PrideÂŽ Cat Litter for their incredible donation!

Did you know that for every jug of Cat's Pride litter purchased, they donate a pound of litter to shelters across the country to help more cats find their forever homes?

Today, Catsbury Park received an amazing 1500 pounds of litter-just what we needed! Your generosity makes a real difference in the lives of rescue cats and the shelters that care for them.

We're so grateful for your support of rescues both big and small! THANK YOU!!!

CHERUB & MAYONNAISE !

These two came to us in September, after a Good Samaritan noticed them in their yard along with their siblings (Rocket & Zero). The “Siamese Dream” litter!

They were a little skittish and went into foster where their incredible foster momma Courtney gave them all the love, and showed them how good life could be when they didn’t have to fend for themselves outside.

My Anh applied initially for one kitten, but upon learning that this litter was bonded needed to stay in pairs - she decided to open her home to a pair of siblings and we couldn’t have been happier! We always say “two kittens are better than one!”

We are so very glad these brothers will get to grow up together and learn from each other - and we’re even more glad that their new mom My Anh understood the importance of keeping them together. Now, they’ll have a built in BFF for life AND a wonderful loving home!

My Anh, thank you for choosing to adopt these cuties. We wish you all of them love and purrs!!

LYDIA

Our spooky little girl has found her forever home! Lydia came to us in the beginning of October, when she came in as a stray. She went for her spay and the vets estimated her at about 1 year old and after assessment, our team realized Lydia was extremely friendly and had a very good chance of being adopted - so we decided to give her that chance at the lounge. How could we deny her?

Even though Lydia is a cat herself, she was not a fan of the other kitties so we knew Lydia’s home would have to be one where she was the queen of the castle and didn’t have to share anything with any other cats.

Katelyn came to visit the lounge and instantly made a connection with Lydia. When we saw her application come in, we were over the moon because it checked all the boxes Lydia needed! When we reached out to Katelyn she fully understood what Lydia was going to need and was more than happy to provide that for her.

Today we got to send our strange and usual little girl off to live her best life with Katelyn and her family. We love when these connections between the cats and humans are made, because it’s the first line in the book of that cat’s brand new life. Lydia most likely spent the first year of her life outdoors without any idea of what could be…and now she is HOME.

Lydia is now able to have that chance because of all of you reading this right now! Your endless support is what makes this work possible - and we can’t thank you enough.

Katelyn and family - congratulations!!! We wish you all the love and purrs!!

Meet GLITZY

For all of Glitzy’s 12 years on this planet, she had a home with a loving companion who cared for her. Sadly, her human left this earth and Glitzy came to us with the rest of the cats she lived with (Billy, Parker, Timmy and Gilbert).

Glitzy hasn’t asked for much from us in the 78 days she’s been here. What she has asked for is love, affection, and safety — which we are happy to provide for her while she waits for the right person to give her the chance to live her golden years out in a loving home. Glitzy is very mindful, very demure - and… look at that face!! She is a cutie who just wants someone to cozy up with.

Her adopter will be someone who is looking for a buddy; someone to watch TV with and to cuddle with while they read. Someone who will watch the sunsets with her out of a window all her own. Glitzy would love a cozy quiet life…and we are hoping all of you can help us connect her with the humans who can give that second chance to her, so we can make that life a reality for her.

If you’d like to meet Glitzy, you can book a visit to the cat lounge right on our website and/or apply for adoption.

Can you help Glitzy out and share this post for her? She knows her person is out there…but she needs your help to find them!

Meet Nick!

Nick is a new intake who came to us right after Christmas. found this guy nearly frozen outside and luckily, they were able to get him safe and indoors before the cold got any worse; and before things for Nick got any worse. They had him neutered and he came to Catsbury right after so he could recover with us; safe and indoors.

Nick is doing great! He has warmed up to us quite quickly, he LOVESSSSSSS to talk…and so far, he thinks this wand toy is a pretty cool thing to play with. He’ll be going to tomorrow to get his full wellness exam and we’ll know more about him after that visit. He is estimated to be around two years old.

He is not available for adoption yet - but we will update as we go. Thank you for saving this boy 🧡

MANON & ASTERIN!

These little girls came to us at the end of September, after they were noticed in someone’s yard - without their momma. We got them to Catsbury and they entered foster care right away, and graduated to the lounge right before Christmas!

Well - they barely lasted a week with us before they were scooped up!! Asterin was adopted by her foster parents, Kassi and Kyle, where she will have kitty siblings - and a doggy friend!

Manon found her forever home with Mary, who was looking to adopt a friend for her current 7 month old kitty. By the looks of Mary’s update pictures, Manon and Pekoe are on their way to being the best of friends very quickly!

Kassi, Kyle, and Mary - thank you for giving these sweet girls their forever homes. They are so very lucky to have found such wonderful humans like yourselves - and we’re so excited to see all of the updates!
