We are a New Jersey 501(c) non-profit corporation with the goal of helping as many kittens and cats find loving homes through various channels. As many of you who followed us on social media might know, we started fostering out of our home in the summer of 2016 and were able to place 37 kittens with forever homes within our first 2 months. We also want to create a space where the public can learn

about cats, interact with them, and potentially take them home. We still hope to continue fostering kittens but Catsbury Park Tea House & Cat Lounge itself will focus on adult cats who, while available for adoption, are residents of the cafe and interact with customers. We also feel that Asbury Park, our favorite place, needs a tea lounge and have focused on providing high-end tea service to provide the best experience for those who come to spend time with our cats!

MANON & ASTERIN!

These little girls came to us at the end of September, after they were noticed in someone’s yard - without their momma. We got them to Catsbury and they entered foster care right away, and graduated to the lounge right before Christmas!

Well - they barely lasted a week with us before they were scooped up!! Asterin was adopted by her foster parents, Kassi and Kyle, where she will have kitty siblings - and a doggy friend!

Manon found her forever home with Mary, who was looking to adopt a friend for her current 7 month old kitty. By the looks of Mary’s update pictures, Manon and Pekoe are on their way to being the best of friends very quickly!

Kassi, Kyle, and Mary - thank you for giving these sweet girls their forever homes. They are so very lucky to have found such wonderful humans like yourselves - and we’re so excited to see all of the updates!

DRAKE!

A few weeks ago, we shared a post about ten cats who came to us after losing their caretaker. When they first arrived, they were scared, confused, and understandably hesitant about their new surroundings and the strangers caring for them. But over time, they all settled in—and big boy Drake was one of the first to let us know he was comfortable and ready to find his forever home.

Joe and Lauren had applied for pre-approval weeks ago, ensuring they’d be ready to adopt as soon as the right cat came along. When they met Drake during their visit to the lounge, the connection was instant. Drake, our “gentle giant,” is a big boy with an even bigger heart. Especially for a cat who had just lost his only caretaker and was adjusting to an entirely new environment.

When Lauren and Joe emailed to say Drake was the one, they also let us know they’d been shopping all week to make sure he had everything he needed—and more—to feel at home. Hearing that Joe and Lauren were ready to give Drake his second chance was the best news we could have hoped for!!

Drake is now officially home with Lauren and Joe!

Lauren and Joe: THANK YOU for giving this sweet, loving soul a warm bed, endless treats, and a lifetime of love. Thank you for choosing to adopt. We wish you many happy years of purrs, snuggles, and joy with Drake!

RHYS!

This handsome little guy came to us in May as a single kitten, and from the start, Rhys was all love and purrs! With his sweet disposition, he was always seeking snuggles and attention—whether from us or his foster mom, Cait.

While in foster care, Rhys perfected his purr and learned how to play with the other kittens. Anyone who met him would tell you what a little lovebug he was, so we knew it wouldn’t be long before he found his forever home.

At the same time Rhys came into our care, Melissa and her family applied to be pre-approved adopters. They wanted to be ready when the right feline friend came along, and that moment arrived this past week! When Melissa and her family came to meet the adoptable cats, it was clear Rhys was the one meant for them.

Some cats make it harder than others to say goodbye, but goodbye is always the goal. Seeing cats like Rhys go off to their forever homes is what we’re all here for at Catsbury Park. Nothing brings us more joy than helping these cats grow and find the loving families they deserve.

Thanks to our amazing team of staff, volunteers, foster parents, and supporters, we were able to send Rhys off to his new chapter, and we couldn’t do it without you.

Melissa and family—CONGRATULATIONS! Rhys is such an affectionate little guy, and we couldn’t be happier that he’s found his perfect home with you. Thank you for choosing to adopt and giving a cat in need a second chance. We wish you many years of love, laughter, and purrs together!

Today is our founder and president’s Birthday!!!

DJ is one of those rare people who is not only kind and generous but also always willing to go the extra mile—whether it’s squeezing into a crawl space or jumping into a lake to save a cat. He’s a true friend to both cats and humans alike.

The reason Catsbury Park exists is because of DJ and his calling to help the cats that need help the most. This beautiful community we’ve been able to build is only a reality because DJ put it into motion, and we’re pretty sure we can all agree on how thankful we are to be a part of that.

So, please join us in wishing DJ the HAPPIEST of birthdays!!!

Last night, we celebrated our amazing staff and volunteers at studios during our annual party! As always, we took this opportunity to honor the incredible volunteers and fosters who went above and beyond this year.

This compassionate duo opened their home to countless cats and kittens, welcoming them regardless of age, temperament, or health challenges. Their unwavering dedication to saving lives has been nothing short of inspiring.

🌟 Volunteers of the Year: Caroline and Sarah
This dynamic duo has been an essential part of Catsbury Park, not only as our top-tier cleaning team but also as devoted advocates for the Catsbury cats. And fun fact—they’re the proud moms of Jelly and Chutney!

🌟 The Lil’ Brian Award: Katie
Each year, this award recognizes a team member who exemplifies selfless dedication to cats in need. Katie, an adopter turned volunteer and foster, embodies this spirit. She’s jumped head first into every aspect of Catsbury Park, including TNR! She also hosts the Catsbury Book Club!

Choosing the recipients for these awards is never easy. Catsbury Park is lucky to have such a remarkable community of people who show up for the cats, day in and day out. Though we come from different backgrounds and walks of life, we are united by our shared love for cats—a bond that makes this community truly special.

STEFF !

Steff is one of the remaining cats we have from the hoarding situation we took on last year (Remember, 30+ cats?!). He is a member of the 365 club (he been with us 470 days as of today). He’s watched the rest of the cats he came in with find their homes, but he’s still waiting for his.

Steff is estimated to be around 5 years young. He is a big boy with a lot to say! He loves lounging in bed, playing with springs, and TREATS!!! Steff came to us with bad teeth — just like the other hoarder kitties. Luckily our friends at Oakhurst Veterinary Hospital performed his dental and got all of those nasty bad teeth out of his mouth so that he would be able to eat and live without that pain. Don’t worry - he has NO problem eating, and we are SO thankful for the skilled team of doctors and staff at OVH for making a pain free life possible for him.

While Steff has experienced a few bromances while being with us, we ultimately think that he would do best as an only cat, OR in a home that is spacious enough to allow Steff and other residents to have their own space away from the others if need be, but ideally — we think an only cat home would be the best for him. He will also need his teeth checked annually, and may need further dental cleanings and exams in the future — so his adopter will need to be someone that understands that this boy will most likely need some future dental care.

We would love to find this guy a home for the holidays, so we’re asking you to share his story because you’re AMAZING at it. Thanks to your shares and spreading the word of the cats who have been here the longest, Catsbury Park has been able to connect the cats with their perfect person — so we’re hoping you folks can work your magic again. PARKER

Nothing makes us smile more than having a nervous cat immediately melt when you start petting them. Parker is one of the 10 cats we took from a home two months ago and has been a little slower to break out of his shell than some of his housemates but he sure enjoys a good head scratch.

Parker is 3 years young and adoptable!

IGOR! We took in Igor at the beginning of November after a good sam brought him into NorthStar VETS after finding him limping in their yard. After performing X-rays, they found Igor had multiple fractures to his hind end, including a right femoral fracture, right and left femoral neck fractures, and a pelvic fracture.

The amazing doctors and nurses got him into surgery the next day to begin the repairs, which took two separate days, on day one, they performed a femoral head and neck ostectomy on the right side and fixed the right femur fracture; on day 2, they neutered him and performed the same femoral head and neck ostectomy to the left side. We picked up Igor the next day and have had him recovering in our isolation cages to ensure he was getting the proper exercise restriction needed to heal.

Cats are truly amazing even with the three major ortho surgeries, he has been recovering flawlessly, other than looking like he lost his fur pants, you’d never know what he’s been through! He’s been loving the extra attention, and I can’t wait for everyone to meet him, he is perfect and deserves the best home after such a rough start!

**Igor is not available for adoption yet as he will have a follow-up visit with his surgeon in the next two weeks to get the all-clear, after that, he will complete his vaccine series, where we can finally introduce him into the lounge and find his new home!**

This year, between January 1 and November 1, we rescued 140 kittens under 3 months old from the streets—140 little lives forever changed, thanks to your generosity. Each kitten costs approximately $150 for spay/neuter surgeries and vaccines, not to mention food, litter, and supplies while in foster care. That’s $25,000 spent giving these sweet angels the life they deserve—off the streets and into warm, loving homes.

JELLYBEAN!!

Yes folks, you read that correctly. Jellybean got her holiday miracle and went to her forever home!!

If you’ve been following us, then you’re well acquainted with Jellybean and how long she has been with us. If you’re new here - the TLDR is that she had been with us for over a year and desperately needed to find her human!

Jellybean came to us in July of 2023, when we pulled some cats from a shelter in south Jersey. We don’t know much about her past - her records told us she was one of 11 cats that was transferred in from Newark. She wasn’t spayed, and she was young - but we don’t think she ever lived in a home. The longest home she knew was Catsbury Park, but this girl deserved so much more.

Terry came to visit the lounge and fell in love with Jellybean right away. She didn’t have any other cats at home, and was more than willing to make her home Jellybean’s castle where she would be free to be the queen she is!

As you can imagine, this was a big adoption for all of us at Catsbury Park. Jellybean has a special place in all of our hearts and watching Terry walk away with Jellybean in her carrier was the sweetest goodbye we ever could have wished for. Jellybean waited so very long for that day to come, and she got to spend her first Thanksgiving in her very own home with her very own companion.

Jellybean and Terry - we are so happy for you both. Terry, thank you for choosing to adopt and thank you for seeing Jellybean for the amazing cat she is!!! We wish you many years of love and purrs!!!!!!

MYSARIA AND DAEMON

The other pair of dragon kittens have found their forever home with Nicole and Jared!

Nicole is a volunteer with us, and she and Jared have adopted with us in past (Benny & Gator). They had to say goodbye to sweet Benny last month, and they knew that Benny would want nothing more than for them to give another cat in need a much needed home.

Since Nicole volunteers with us regularly, she knows the cats quite well. Jared came down a few times to spend some time with the cats, and as you can see from the pics - Daemon and Jared click right away! Daemon was part of a pair, so he and his sister Mysaria would need to find a home together.

Well, Jared made it official and let us know Mysaria and Daemon would be coming home with them together - and even better, Gator would have TWO new buddies to play with!

Wishing you many years of love and purrs with these two cuties!!!!! Thank you for choosing to adopt again 🧡

Merry Christmas from the adoptable kitties at Catsbury Park !

Nothing makes us smile more than having a nervous cat immediately melt when you start petting them. Parker is one of the 10 cats we took from a home two months ago. While he has been a little slower to break out of his shell than some of his housemates, he certainly loves a good head scratch!

Meet Igor! He came to us in November after a good Samaritan found him limping and brought him to NorthStar VETS, where X-rays revealed multiple fractures. Over two days, the skilled team repaired his injuries, including a femoral head and neck ostectomy on each side, fixing his right femur, and neutering him. Igor has been recovering beautifully in our care, and despite three major surgeries, he’s remained resilient and affectionate—rocking his “no fur pants” look like a champ. Go Igor, go!
