Socialize your puppy, expand their world, train them around every distraction. Teach them how to listen and regulate with a lot going on in the environment.
How do you get a dog and cat to coexist? Time, training, and management. 🐈
1️⃣ Train and work on your dogs impulse control. A strong “leave it” command goes a long way.
2️⃣ Put up baby gates in a few places and leave them closed/open on a certain schedule, so they can get used to the routine.
3️⃣ Utilize a crate for the dog when leaving the animals unattended is highly recommended.
4️⃣ Make sure your cat has plenty of spaces where they feel safe and like they have an escape route.
5️⃣ Keep your dog on leash when first introducing them to your cat. Don’t force the interaction. Short and sweet intros to start!
6️⃣ Exercise both of them plenty every day.
7️⃣ Keep the dog mentally busy, so feed every meal using snuffle mats, Kongs, puzzle toys, etc.

I’m a previous student of Miss Brittany’s and she would love to help me find a new home from someone who is up for a challenge! 😂
I’m potty trained, crate trained and know a bunch of commands. (sit, lay down, come, drop it, leave it, off, spin, crawl etc). I love to play fetch and romp at the beach.
I’m very food motivated, love to train and learn new things! I’m a big fan of puzzles, lick mats and enrichment toys.
I am very sensitive to loud noises.
I am on medicine due to behavioral problems which require someone with prior dog experience to handle.

Theo will not be adopted out to a first time dog owner. We are looking someone who has experience with reactive dogs and high energy breeds.
Things to know about Theo if you’re interested in adopting her:
It’s highly recommended that you have a yard as Theo gets anxious walking and this needs to be worked on over time through positive training, not something she can be forced through.
She is good with kids and dogs but it is recommended that you don’t have any in your home, due to her energy and temperament.
She currently lives with a couple who just had a baby and have two other dogs. It’s do-able, just not ideal. It requires serious management and supervision.
Theo resource guards. She guards her food and anything else she deems high value. She guards resources more from other dogs than she does from humans and requires strict management if she goes to a home with another dog.
There is no adoption fee for Theo, we are just looking for the best possible home for her.

Bellworks is in Homdel and is dog friendly indoors and outdoors. As long as your pet is well behaved and not an excessive barker, this is a great place to bring your pup to hang out and go for a walk!

Pet grief runs so deep that it is helpful to have something comforting to cling to, and the Rainbow Bridge is an invitation to talk and think about our departed pets in a more positive light, rather than as an empty hole in our lives.

Meet Furmaids Pet Services 🐾 @furmaidspetservices
A local dog walking and adventure team that offers walks from 20-60 mins and 90 min adventures. They service Asbury park to Belmar, including Neptune and Wanamassa.
The owner, Renae, has trained with us for her own dog, Kubota. Renae is super patient, and well versed in dogs with reactivity or who are high maintenance. She’s a big fan of enrichment and positive reinforcement methodology. She’s a big fan of letting a dog be a dog - meaning they can sniff, explore, and play.
She loves what she does and it shows!
