"This evening I made a quick run to the supermarket with my 13 year-old stepdaughter, and my 23 month-old daughter. While I was in line my 2-year-old was eyeballing a little stuffed dog from her stroller. There was an older man in front of us in line who was only buying ice cream.
He looked at my daughter, smiled, and waved 'Hi.'
He then asked her 'what are you looking at?'
When he saw her point to the dog, he picked it up and put it in her hand.
I'll admit, I freaked out a little. We have only one income, which means we can't just buy things for the kids on a whim. Things like that need to be planned in our family.
As soon as I saw the look on my baby's face as she stared into the dog's big plastic eyes, I was already dreading taking it away from her and hearing her heartbreaking cry.
But then the stranger did something unexpected. He looked at me with such a kind smile on his face and said 'I'll buy it for her.' I was shocked at his kindness and I immediately felt guilty.
Because the other reason I freaked out was because a stranger was getting close to my daughter.
Because I didn't know what his intentions were.
Because his hand brushed hers when he handed her the dog.
Really, it shouldn't be that way.
When did we become a society of people who are so afraid of one another that we think all interactions may be malicious.
More importantly, when did I let myself become so disillusioned about others that I automatically think the worst.
The man interacted with my daughter for a minute or so, giggling her little heart out.
It really warmed my heart. It was just a stuffed animal, but really it was so much more. I'm always telling my kids about how important kindness is, and how I feel as though not enough people are kind anymore.
I was glad my eldest stepdaughter was there to see how touched I was by the man's gesture. I want her, and all my kids for that matter, to go out into the world knowing how important kindness is and how some small things can really be big things.
As we were leaving my stepdaughter looked at me and said "Mommy, that man was so nice!"
My daughter hasn't put the dog ("Bacon" as my other children have named him) down ever since we left the store. I was so surprised by what happened that I didn't even think to get the strangers name.
But I did ask for a picture because I wanted to remember that no act of kindness is too small."

โ€œPets, it turns out, also have last wishes before they die, but only known by veterinarians who put old and sick animals to sleep. Twitter user Jesse Dietrich asked a vet what was the most difficult part of his job.
The specialist answered without hesitation that it was the hardest for him to see how old or sick animals look for their owners with the eyes of their owners before going to sleep. The fact is that 90 % of owners don't want to be in a room with a dying animal. People leave so that they don't see their pet leave. But they don't realize that it's in these last moments of life that their pet needs them most.
Veterinarians ask the owners to be close to the animals until the very end. โ€ฒโ€ฒIt's inevitable that they die before you. Don't forget that you were the center of their life. Maybe they were just a part of you. But they are also your family. No matter how hard it is, don't leave them.
Dont let them die in a room with a stranger in a place they dont like. It is very painful for veterinarians to see how pets cannot find their owner during the last minutes of their life. They dont understand why the owner left them. After all, they needed their ownerโ€™s consolation.
Veterinarians do everything possible to ensure that animals are not so scared, but they are completely strangers to them. Don't be a coward because it's too painful for you. Think about the pet. Endure this pain for the sake of their sake. Be with them until the end.โ€

For 6 years, a dog named Capitan slept in the grave of his owner every night.
His owner, Miguel Guzman died in 2006 and Capitan disappeared shortly after the family attended the funeral services.
They searched everywhere and put out flyers to try and find him. But no one had seen him.
A week later, some people who were at the cemetery late one evening spotted Capitan laying on the grave and they contacted the grounds keeper at the cemetery.
The cemetery notified the family who promptly came to pick him up and take him home.
But each night he would cry and scratch frantically at the door to go out and he wouldn't return home until morning.
It was later discovered that Capitan would walk the 3 miles back to the cemetery each night to guard his master's grave.
It happened for 7 years.
The cemetery did not close the gates until he arrived each night promptly at 6 pm.
He slept there all night guarding the grave until the ground keeper opened the gate in the morning.
This is a true picture of Capitan here.
P.S : If there is ever true love in this universe โค๏ธ this is it!!
