Tonight I had to say “see you later” (never goodbye) to one of my students that has come leaps and bounds since starting lessons with me! Annelise went from riding our old faithful man, Buddy who was the most docile and easy going horse here to ending on General our youngest most green horse!
It’s been so much fun watching you grow and learn over the past couple of years! I can’t wait to hear all about your new school, friends, and what you have been up to when I see you again!
Good luck in New York, girly! We are all going to miss you! ❤️

So happy to have Miss Dixie here for a couple months ❤️ She’s back with her owner and is here till her mom can get the barn set up and to continue her rehab from a recent injury.
Dixie was one of the first horses I used to work with when I was 16-17 to get her to be safe under saddle for her previous owner (the current owners mom) ❤️ It’s pretty cool being able to see her again 🥰

Hey y’all!
I’m looking to see if any of my current students would like to help out with the horses while I’m out of town April 8th-April 14th?!

Morning chores consist of:
Grain
Turn out
*Cleaning stalls
*Filling water buckets
*putting hay in the stalls
All done before or at 9am

Evening chores consist of:
Letting them in
Evening Grain
Done anytime after 6pm

*can be done in the evening for some days or Al of the days*

If you can or are willing to take on some days let me know what you can help with! I would be willing to do a discount/free lessons or possible ride time available to my more advance students that can have a someone stay with them in exchange for the help 😊

Whoever is able to help I will go over chores with you before or after a few of your lessons leading up to this time to make sure you know what to do and are comfortable 🙂

It is with a heavy heart that we inform you that Buddy (my moms horse) is being laid to rest tonight 💔 He lived a very full 32 years and spent the last 6 almost 7 of them with us being loved by so many even though he was the stubborn, lazy, redhead around the barn.
It’s not going to be quite the same around the barn without you Buddy 🥺

With the temps and wind chill warming today through Saturday we won’t be having lessons. We will resume lessons Sunday as long as the weather is better! Stay safe and stay warm!

Night ridding is becoming my favorite time to teach!

02/01/2023

By now most everyone has heard about the brutal -45 degree wind chill they are calling for this weekend. Here are some tips on keeping your horses warm, safe, and healthy!

•If you don’t have an enclosed barn make sure the horses have a shelter to get out of the wind

•Whether your horses are in a barn or outside make sure to blanket them. This will help give them extra protection against the wind and cold.

•Give them extra hay/forage. Horses burn the calories they eat in order to keep warm.

•Provide them with warm water. This will encourage them to drink even when it’s cold out. Horses on average need 10-12 gallons of water each day. If the horses do not drink enough water they are at high risk for colic.

Start planning ahead for Summer!

We will be having three weeks of Summer camp this year!

June 26-30 (1 more spot available)
July 24-28 (5 more spots available)
August 14-18 (FULL)

8:30-9am drop off
5:30-5:45pm pick up

Cost per camp is $350, if you pay for all three weeks by the first week in June you'll save $100

We will only be taking 10 kids per camp so be sure to sign up asap! These slots filled up quickly last year and I expect them to again this year!

$100 deposit is required to hold your childs spot for camp. This is put towards your total for camp.

As for overnights this year (I know the kiddos will be asking about it) I am unsure at this time. If I do not have a competition that weekend we will most likely do an overnight. If I do have a competition the kids will be able to see and help with show prep on Friday!

Can't wait to see you all!
