What better way to show your dog that you love them than by checking them for lumps, bumps and anything suspicious?

Today is the 14th of the month which means it’s Check Your Dog Day. Early detection of any abnormal lumps, bumps and smells can gain you added years of time with your precious pup.

Start at the nose and go to the tip of the tail. Slowly rub your hands across your dogs body, taking note of any lumps or bumps you find. Look closely at the eyes, ears, inside the mouth and between the toes for any discoloration or unusual odor. Feel all the lymph nodes for lumps that don’t belong. And call your vet if you find anything at all to get it checked out.

SNEAK PEEK!! The bakery department finalized the cookie designs for our 2024 Advent Calendars. The calendars will have 12 cookies from our bakery and the remaining squares will be filled with other items we sell in our store like Jerky, Crunchy O’s, .pdx Freeze Dried Cheese and several calendars will have fun surprises like $25 gift cards to use in the store.

We have the flavors picked out for the pups (Cheese & Bacon, Peanut Butter Banana & Pumpkin all from our friends at ) We need a little help with our human flavors 😋

We have picked out the Cookies & Crème for our dairy-free/vegan option. And we have chosen 3 of the 4 ice cream flavors (Vanilla, Double Chocolate Chunk & Mint Chip).

Please be safe in this heat y’all!! Loudoun County Animal Services is a pet friendly cooling center.

Due to the forecast of excessive heat and humidity from the US National Weather Service Baltimore/Washington, some County facilities will serve as designated cooling centers today, providing a place for people to seek relief from the heat. The Loudoun Homeless Services Center is extending its evening drop-in hours to 8:00 p.m., today through Sunday, July 7.

Officials remind everyone to guard against heat-related illness and remember to:

➡️ Stay indoors in climate-controlled areas as much as possible.
