Sarena is what we call “a dog trainers dog.” If you ask her to “come” while she’s busy with a snuffle mat, she will gladly comply… but you can bet that she’s going to put her own spin on things. She said “I’ll come, but you never said anything about leaving the mat behind!” I’m especially proud of her leash manners during graduation. Great job girls!

Listening to my voice, it’s easy to believe that I’m a trainer at a place caused Southern Tails… sheesh 🙉. Ignore my southern drawl and focus on the impressive job that Huey the Bassett Hound did learning how to change his pace in our loose leash walking course last night. Steady means “slow down” and hurry means “pick up your pace.” Both are important training tools when teaching your dog to walk politely on leash. A mini vacation with Josie the Havanese and Dolly the Great Dane. Judging by her face and ears, Dolly was excited to wrap up our vacation by meeting The Mothman outside of The Mothman Museum in Point Pleasant, WV. They stopped in and visited the artisans at The Tamarack in Beckley on their way to the last remaining Billy Bob’s Wonderland in Barboursville, WV. They were able to sample the finest food in the entire continental Northeast… White Castle cheeseburgers, and they “participated” in the eclipse from the totality zone (they stayed in the car and were not encouraged to watch). This is why it’s so important to train your dogs!
