We welcomed a new group of students into Obedience 101 last night.
1.) Nova the doing stand, off, and take it.
2.) Millie the doing sit and down
3.) Lola Bunny the doing sit
4.) GiGi the doing stand
5.) Lainey Grace the mix was very proud of her “down”
6.) Fancy learning stand. Isn’t she beautiful? She was adopted into a new home at the age of 9 1/2 years old with the help of . 🥰

Lucy Beth, Xander, Lottie, Tater, Maggie, and Bruce Lee started obedience 102 this week. They were introduced to the clicker and target training. Here they’re learning the first steps of teaching your dog to go to their place. Go. Take it. Come. Good dog!

Mango, Max, Bunker, Bandit, and Anja in obedience 101. Sit/Stay. Come. Heel position. Anja wanted everyone to see that her blanket has her name on it and that she has the small dog privilege of riding around in her bed in her mom’s arms. 👸🏻

Jewels may have secured the title of “funniest graduation cake photograph” during her Obedience 101 ceremony last week. She, Lottie, Brooks, Tater, and Max did an outstanding job in class, even if none of them did much care for the word “down.” I’m excited to be able to say that I’ll get to see Lottie and Tater in Obedience 102! 🥰

Week one of The Canine Good Citizen prep course was last night. This class felt like home: familiar faces that I was excited to see at both ends of each leash. Bourbon who I caught grinning, Sorcha sitting pretty for the camera, Darcy who had a song in her heart, Bailey and Cashew with their snazzy new hairdos, and beautiful baby Nova.

🎃 Happy Halloween 👻! Just a reminder from everyone at Southern Tails that it is never too late to train your dog! ☠️ 😂 Here are some of our decorations from the school this year.
Hagrid, Canelo, and Rocco shared their costumes with us. Zurry evidentially won a fight with a zombie based on the tug of war game he’s having with that leg! This video was the first one we ever attempted many many years ago. Such a good thing being able to to see these wonderful amazing dogs once again!!! They taught us so much. We hope you enjoy it. Darcy’s eyes say “that is the ugliest button I have ever seen. You want me to put my paw on that?!” The next picture shows the photo she took of herself when she decided to “foot” our camera button during her graduation from Obedience 102. Exceptionally good job Darcy, Reign, Canelo, and Rocco. My boys, Canelo and Rocco excelled at this. Look at them Hulk smashing that button 💚 💪.
