💙 Information on Heartworm Prevention and Mosquitoes!! 💙
In North Carolina, our pets are at “High Risk” nearly YEAR ROUND for being bitten by a heartworm infected mosquito!

Not So Fun 🦟 Fact:
🩸 Female mosquitoes (feeding mosquitoes) may become inactive or die when temperatures drop below 50 degrees Fahrenheit. However, not all female mosquitoes will die in these temperatures and their eggs will make it through the winter just fine! And boy are they hungry when the weather begins to warm back up!

❣️ In NC (as well as most of the East Coast and Southern States) we have the perfect, environment for breeding mosquitoes (warm and humid)! Temperatures do not usually drop below 50 degrees for very long, even in the dead of winter; so even in winter there is always a chance an infected mosquito could bite and infect your pets!
❣️ALL dogs and cats are susceptible to possibly being infected with heartworms and Our Veterinarians recommend that your pets be on year-round heartworm prevention!
❣️ Heartworm preventions such as Heartgard, Interceptor Plus, Trifexis, ProHeart 6 and ProHeart 12, or Revolution Plus (for cats) work by eliminating microfilaria (baby heart worms, as pictured in the video below) in the bloodstream so that they may never reach adulthood and effect your fur-babies’ heart! ❤️
❣️ Speak with your veterinarian about routine heartworm testing and what prevention is right for your pet! ❤️

Anybody ever seen a horse drink out of a water faucet??
Everyone say hello to Copper. Copper came to us in December for not being able to use his back legs, along with not being able to use the bathroom on his own. He came in for a recheck today, It’s been 1 month and look at this guy go! Thanks to his wonderful family who have bought him a doggy wheelchair, are expressing his bladder for him multiple times a day and helping him with PT and water therapy, Copper is living his best life despite his struggles. He is the happiest little beagle mix and is not letting his situation stop him. We love seeing happy endings!!
