The Frenchie Dog Breed.

Whew ….they are certainly a super special adorable breed and one of the most common breeds that frequent my business‼️

Unlike any other dog breed in many aspects, it is no surprise 😮 , that in the food 🍲 category there's no exception. There are so many variables for a responsible Frenchie owner to consider when it comes to feeding your French Bulldog.

First, let’s learn more about the genetic health issues this precious ❤️ and popular breed is known for . French bulldogs are most likely to have more health conditions compared to other dogs 🐕 . Among these health concerns, four problems are the most common in Frenchies: BOAS ( Brachycephalic Airway Syndrome) , hip dysplasia, IVDD and allergies ( food and environmental).

A diet of fresh dog food for your French bulldog contributes to a healthy, active life, and could help stave off some of the ailments common to this breed.
Frenchies thrive better on a unique blend of fresh foods , crafted to avoid many of the common allergens found in typical dog food. Certain proteins and vegetables have higher allergen risks and fresh dog food prioritized the use of high-quality, fresh ingredients to provide the best nutrition for your furry friend. They need nutrient dense and hypo allergenic foods .

I recommend staying away from foods that contain soybean meal, which contains some compounds that can result in flatulence in Frenchies , namely the galactooligosaccharides, stachyose, raffinose, and verbascose. This can cause digestive issues, colitis & gastric issues. Which result in throwing up and diarrhea.

I am called the “Dogfood Lady” for a reason …heck, the majority of my customers have me listed in their phone 📞 wirh that name.

What’s the number one question I get?
“ What is the worst dogfood on the market?”’

I won’t even tackle the dogfood brand Purina, that’s a separate post. Listed below are my top 5 overall dogfood brands.

1- Ole Roy Dogfood
2- Kibble ‘N Bits
3- Pedigree
4- Caesars
5- IAMS

The most common brand of these 5 being used is IAMS. Why?
Because IAMS spends millions on Marketing and their Breeder Alliance Program. IAMS is a popular brand among Americans, and it’s a name brand that’s widely recognized. But is it one of the worst 🐶 dogfood brands for your pup? 👀

As you read the ingredients in your IAMS dog food, you’ll notice that meat, like chicken 🍗 , is the first ingredient. However, a closer inspection will reveal that there’s a significant amount of cornmeal and sorghum in the food. These are cheap filler products that provide very little nutritional benefit to your dog.

Meat and meat by-products are listed in the ingredients of IAMS dog food and, we’re not always certain where those “animal by-products” come from! Bones 🦴 , organs, and leftovers from other animals in the slaughterhouse could be making their way into your pup’s food! Yuck 🤮

Finally, IAMS Dog Food features beet pulp as a key ingredient. Beet pulp is high in sugar content and could result in obesity. Put simply, there are many better options on the market than IAMS dog food.

Get ready for a cuteness overload as I welcome my new boss, Jovi Claire Wheeler, my sunshine...my granddaughter! She took the reins and arrived on her own special day! My beautiful granddaughter! Waggin Meals Pet Nutrition Group is offering a "Sale" for the month of March. These types of services range from $500-$750 at other locations.

This includes a needs analysis for your dog, a detailed, individualized meal plan including possible supplements, and instruction on preparation for up to (2) dogs, via Zoom or in-person locally (in the Asheville area).

1- Scientifically developed recipes for your specific dog or cat; breed, age, weight, allergies, dietary restrictions, and medical conditions.

2- Education on how to source the ingredients based on your specific region and resources.

3- One-on-one cooking instruction class.

4- Email with recipes and tips.

5- Guide for ordering supplements & vitamins.

Once purchased, a staff member will contact you to schedule via zoom or in person at our Alexander location.

Love 💕 Love 💗 the new form submissions for our new Line of Cat Food! Due to FDA regulations, we are awaiting approval to be able to sell ( that is required flr every item I formulate and sell). However, in the meantime, we can provide a complimentary meal on a first-come, first-served basis. Our Salmon Formula, with 89% protein, is currently available. It is essential to note that the final product will incorporate taurine powder, not included in this specific formula.
