AgCare will be open from 7:30 a.m. to noon on Friday, July 4th, and will resume regular hours on Saturday, the 5th, to provide supplies to our valued customers who will be spending the weekend working on projects around their farms, lawns, and gardens. Surround WP 25-pound bags of kaolin clay is often used to help deter insect feeding, but it also serves to protect fruits and leaves from sun-related damage. By reflecting sunlight, it keeps plants cooler. We ship this product and other products out each day via FedEx and UPS. Surprisingly, we sell more Surround with the added freight to areas away from here than we do to local growers. I need to inform more local growers about its benefits, especially during periods of heat stress, such as the one we are currently experiencing.

This week, AgCare team members reflect on and express gratitude for our relationship with Dustin Hensley, a farmer and friend who provided us with round bales of hay and shelled corn. Hensley was a row crop farmer and beef producer in Eastern TN, still in his prime. We honor Dustin's parents, who lost a son too soon, and in particular his father, who was working beside him on Father's Day when Dustin died in an accident. Dustin will be missed and not forgotten. Please pray for his family and friends. This reminds us that our time on earth will come to an end, and it may be sudden and without warning. When that time comes, may we be like Dustin, serving others and spending time with the ones we love.
