😳🐶😱 Dog Anxiety 😱🐶😳 Anxious dogs, such as Arlo, are insecure and lack confidence. Most common in mixed breed shelter dogs and very young puppies, anxiety is a major obstacle in life! Separation anxiety makes leaving your dog, sometimes just for a moment, an extreme challenge. This was true for Arlo!
Before an anxious dog can be trained, they must learn to relax. Instead of anxiety meds 💊 to drug dogs, we use petting & dog massage techniques to calm does.

🐶 Puppy Dog Anxiety 🐶 Introducing German Shepherd (GSD) puppy Sawyer. He is a sweet, adorable pup who has significant anxiety!!! When he arrived 1 week ago, he would whine, bark & scream in a crate!
After 1 week in our B&T program, he is sleeping soundly during nap time and overnight sleeping.
Sawyer is a very lucky pup whose humans adore him!!! He is well on his way to becoming the Dog of Their Dreams!!!

LOOK 👀 is the key skill to get your dog’s attention. If you can get your pup to look at you, under any circumstance, you have their attention. LOOK 👀 is the foundation skill upon which all obedience is based.
BUT ….. when walking on leash, we don’t want dogs staring at their human. That is unnatural and impractical. We want dogs to be aware of their human, but not to stare at them when walking.

Self-Control is NOT a natural behavior for dogs. They need to learn how to sit still. Dogs should LIKE to be on their PLACE cot, NOT forced in any way. We offer toys, but no food, during self-control training. We want dogs to relax & be calm without the distraction of food.

Introducing Bentley, a young Irish Red & White Setter. Even though the breed may be new to you, the Irish R&W Setter have been in Ireland 🇮🇪 since the 1600’s.
So far, Bentley lives up to the Irish R&W Setter reputation of being “fun-living, friendly and high-spirited. At 6-months, Bentley is all legs and gorgeous!

🧬🐕🧬 Doggie DNA Results 🧬🐕🧬 The verdicts are in! BIGGIE’s & MOCHA’s true identities have been revealed!!!
Lots of guesses as to Biggie’s ancestry. Definitely a doodle! But what type of doodle? DNA results reveal Biggie to be a Mastidoodle or Mastipoo. Poodle + Mastiff account for 78% of Biggie’s genetic makeup.
Everyone described our little Mocha as a “Beagle Mix”. However, we were skeptical because of her dense fur & tightly curled tail. Mocha’s DNA not only indicates she is a Husky mix, but one of her parents was a purebred. That accounts for the exactly 50% Siberian Husky.
While knowing your mixed breed’s DNA may seem unnecessary, the DNA results help tremendously to understand your pup’s behaviors. For example, Mocha is incredibly vocal. Loves harmonica music and very found of Billy Joel, Bob Dylan & Tom Petty. Huskies are very vocal, which explains Mocha’s love of singing.

🐕🐶🐕 Wonder Weeks Puppy Milo 🐕🐶🐕 Introducing Milo! At 10 weeks old, he struggles with potty training, but awesome with crate training. He’s a biter & jumper. And, has limited socialization with other puppy dogs. And, Puppy Milo needs all the foundation obedience skills.
Puppy Milo just arrived yesterday and we already see progress! Stay tuned for more Milo updates.

🌼🐕🌼 TAG - English Yellow Lab 🌼🌼 TAG is just started training at the ripe old age of 6 years. You might ask ….. Can older dogs learn new tricks? They sure can, but it always takes longer. TAG has over 5.5 years of hard leash pulling experience.
Within 1 week, TAG learned how to walk without pulling. He’s doing great! But, he is definitely a work in progress. Keep up the great training.

When I first bought this property 3 years ago, I knew I wanted to create a safe healing haven in this cove for all to benefit from. With tireless dedication and support from my husband, volunteers and donors, we have accomplished a lot and have saved so many lives.
