Jambo was a beloved friend who helped us in so many ways. When a child is stressed and anxious, we don't raise our voices, yank on their necks and punish them. So why are we still doing this with dogs?

This article puts it simply: treat an anxious dog the same way you would treat an anxious human.

We love a successful intervention with owner assistance! In the coming years can we see much, much more of this and less of the tired & ineffective shaming of pet owners for "giving up on their dogs"?? Please.

Never assume that giving up is an easy decision. Being out of resources can happen to any of us, at any time. Have compassion 💖

🧡 Dear supporters, please meet Dixie, a dog you helped save. This past Friday, her family requested euthanasia when emergency surgery for Pyometra added up to 3x more than what they could afford. The vet staff asked if we might rescue her so they didn't have to PTS.

You know us, right? - We asked if we could work together to keep her in her home instead. The family had to be convinced that financial help was available; They'd already given up and resigned themselves to the worst outcome. But staff did a beautiful job counseling them, so they contributed what they could afford and Dixie was saved.

Your donations allowed us to put $550 towards costs, and now 3 little kids get to welcome their dog back home for the holidays. I want kids to believe in little miracles, so this win was super gratifying --- Yay Dixie, Yay kids. Never give up.

Big thanks to vet clinic staffer Laila, who didn't give up either. You made it happen.
