Ear infections are a common problem in cats and dogs due to the L-shape of their ear canals.
๐ถ Causes of pet ear infections include allergies, heat, trapped moisture, excessive ear wax, ear mites, foreign material, and unknown growth.
๐ฆฎ Breeds with floppy ears like Cocker Spaniels, Poodles or Golden Retrievers can be more prone to ear infections although cats can get them too.
๐ Symptoms of an ear infection include red or inflamed ears, black/brown or yellow/green discharge, strong odor, ear scratching of shaking of head, whimpering, loss of balance, hearing loss, unusual eye movements, or walking in circles.
๐ญ If you suspect your furry friend has an infection, make an appointment with your pet's primary care veterinarian.

Summertime means more cookouts!
When having backyard parties and cookouts, make sure to keep an eye on your pet. Sneaking scraps and getting treats from guests can lead to a vet visit that'll rain on everyone's parade!
Zuko here is clearly "dog aggressive"... to hot dogs!
