Hive check today. Last week we attempted a hive check and I made 2 mistakes that I knew I was making and thought I’d be ok. 5 stings later I realized I should take the advice more seriously 😂. This week was much better and the girls are doing great 🐝 🍃

Great news for the Honey 🐝 short term, however this is not a long term solution. We all have to remain vigilant and beware of pesticides, not only for the bees but also for ourselves. Did you know neonicotinoids are thought to be the cause of Colony Collapse Disorder?

We picked up our Italian Honey Bees yesterday. They were out behind a jewelry store which made for an interesting pickup. The man was examining diamonds when I walked in. He put his magnifying glass down and threw his bee suit on when I whispered I was there for the bees. I told Adam to remain calm around the bees and that honey bee stings are rare. He managed to get stung between the eyes as soon as he exited the car so he wears his gear now…. 🐝 🍃
