We received a report of a stray cat that has been shot in the area of Westview and Elmarna. Unfortunately, the cat has sadly passed away. X-rays confirmed it had been shot.

Anyone with information, please contact the Ashland Police Department. A report was filed by the resident who found the cat.

Reminder that it is a felony offense to shoot any companion animal. In late 2024, the Ohio Supreme Court ruled that strays animals are included in that.

I would just like to say, I'm really sorry that some people think that my pricing is high. I do this 7 days a week the majority of the time. I go to multiple pets a day. It's an excessive amount of wear and tear on my vehicle not to mention the amount of mileage I put on my vehicle every month. I offer to do by the day visits which is a $27 discount. Then I also try to discount in other ways. I hate that I can't do it for cheaper but for me to be able to continue with this business, this is where I have to be. I already lose a lot of money the way that I choose to do it. I never wanted this to be about money, but as you know any job it has to be otherwise it's not worth the time or the effort. I have a family to support just like everyone else. I adore these pets and I give them exceptional care. I really hate that it doesn't work for everybody, but I do understand that. I understand there are other people who offer these services cheaper. I have no ill will for anyone who decides to go elsewhere for services. You get what you pay for ;)

I do the best I can. Thank you for those who understand all of this! I hate to even say anything, but I feel like some people don't understand what it entails. If I pet sit for somebody for a week and they need four visits a day that's 28 visits in 7 days. Most people don't realize that I have drive time factored into all of this also. So some days I'm only home for 10 hours, depending on what I have on my schedule. That's time away from my family for me to be with your special babies. :( I don't in any way mean to sound snarky. It's just almost a punch to the gut when someone tells me that my pricing is too high. Your animal is getting to stay in the comfort of their own home they have 2-3 hrs a day of potty breaks, play and cuddling. As most of you know even though you only pay for 30 minutes most of the time I'm there longer than that. They are taken care of every 4 to 5 hours rather than just being given 40 minutes total a day outside at a boarding facility.
I worked at one. I saw how it worked first hand. The pups got four 10-15 minute breaks a day unless they had added on daycare or special play times.

Again thank you to those who understand this, I love being able to do this and hope to continue for as long as I can!!!

So many pups and kits have joined the Ashland's Crate Escape crew! It's been a week full of meet and greets, reservations, collecting deposits and sittings. I couldn't be any more thankful that all of you choose me to care for your babies!!!! 🥰

PREPARE PREPARE AND HELP!!
Friends and Fans, now is the time to prepare for the bitter cold coming our way early next week! Temperatures are supposed to be in negatives for the highs.

We live in a rural farm area of the State and it is unrealistic to expect every animal to have indoor access. We need to help our neighbors and NOW is the time.

*If possible bring your outdoor pet into the garage or barn (even for the evenings). You may have to park outside to keep your pet alive. Small sacrifice!!
*Provide fresh straw for dog/cat box and rabbit cages (NO BLANKETS, they draw damp and freeze). Anyone have donations of bales of straw to help a neighbor out!
* Make sure their is access to fresh water (Tractor Supply/Centerra have heated water bowls available, check example below). Water will freeze in mins, so you will need to provide fresh multiple times a day. Please don't expect them to lick ice... you have seen Christmas Story? Right?
* Make noise before starting car, many stray cats will seek heat from the warm motor of a car.
* Make a wind break from the front door of cage or turn box so the wind is at the back.
* Prep your barn and bring your livestock in for several of the worst days.
* CHECK AND ASSIST your elderly neighbors, they are not on facebook. See if they could use a bale of straw or help setting up a spot in the garage for their outdoor pets.

NOW is the time to prepare, the Humane Society is an a small VOLUNTEER board, the one dog warden and Sheriff (who address people concerns first) will not be able to canvas the whole County during this period. This is why we need your help friends and fans.

This is a great community of others helping others! Now is one of those times we are asking for your help in preparing!!

Hi, thanks for your interest in Ashland's Crate Escape :) My name is Alex (40 yrs old). I have owned Ashland's Crate Escape over a year now. :) I have amazing reviews on my business page!! I also have references if needed. I'm hoping to be able to assist you. I do want to mention that I book out months in advance ❤️. I already have bookings through June of next year 😵‍💫 Send me a message and let's get your meet and greet scheduled or reservation dates on the books!

What dates are you interested in reserving? That way if I'm already booked I can let you know in advance :)

I come to your house multiple times a day for let outs, feedings, or other general care. I have lots of puzzles, Lickmats, Kongs ECT.

I offer dog walking and pet drop ins for many different types of animals in your home or outside it ;) . Morning drop in visits at 6am and my last visit is 9-10pm. Sadly, as of now I do not offer overnight stays in your home. I offer 30 min visits $28, 45 min visits $36 or 1 hr visit is $45. By the day visits are 4 drop ins (30mins) $85. Saves you a bit to do 4 :) . If you need longer for the by the day drop in visits or need to add a 5th visit each day, let me know and I can adjust pricing accordingly for your specific needs. Holidays are $10 extra per day. Each additional animal is $5-10 a day. Administering meds is an additional $5 per day. ( Local pricing within 10 miles, outside city limits is an extra .27¢ per mile).

We would need to schedule a meet and greet ahead of walking or sitting, to make sure we're all a fit for one another. That day you would fill out paperwork and sign the contract. 25% of your total would be due day of signing to hold your dates. You are welcome to pay all of the total at that time, only deposit is required that day though. Sadly I can not agree to any walkings or sittings until I have had a meet and greet for safety reasons.

I can take cash, check and venmo for payments. If you pay by check, please make check out to Alexandria Taylor.
