The FOTAS - Friends of the Animals monthly Low-cost Pet Vaccination & Microchip for cats and dogs was a big success again on Saturday.

More than 200 adorable and well-loved pets received vaccines that prevent them from getting very sick from common communicable diseases, like upper respiratory infections, distemper and panleukopenia, feline leukemia, kennel cough, and more.

We now offer rabies, distemper, bordetella, and feline leukemia vaccines, plus microchips (a permanent form of ID).

Another lovely adoption! Chris (now Leo) is going to an adult foster care home in Central Point.

Jessica and Jacob have 2 youngish kitties and 2 cat-friendly dogs, plus 4 pet-friendly residents! Chris hit the jackpot!

Chris came into foster care after being found in the shrubs during a rain storm in Medford. The mama spooked and did not come back after giving birth. Eliza, the foster mom, raised Chris and his sister, Maggie, in an incubator. Unfortunately, the third kitten, Bernadette, did not survive.

Sweet Maggie was adopted today by Nina and Bobby, and their lovely 2-year-old kitty.

Maggie entered FOTAS foster care at only 2 days old with her brother, Chris. Raised with loads of other cats and dogs, Maggie is ready to live with her new playmate and lovely owners.

Meet Rachel and Monica!

Monica is a sleek all black short-haired beauty with a stunning, refined Egyptian look. She started out fearful but has learned to relax and enjoy being loved on. She will take her time getting to know you but it will be well worth the wait.

Monica loves soft caresses and is happy to sit in your lap. She is a great indoor cat but more on the mild side. She is very playful, especially with her sister.

Rachel is a medium-length black beauty with a chocolate tinge and a few white hairs. She loves to sleep with you and seeks out affection. Rachel will enjoy showing off her athleticism around your home.

Rachel and Monica have been around older children. They have seen a dog in the household but have not interacted with it. These sisters would thrive being in a home together.

The adoption fee is $50 for both lovely ladies.

The Friends of the Animals (FOTAS) FELINE CAT & KITTEN ADOPTION FAIR is almost a week away!
Saturday, February 8th, 2025, 11 AM - 3 PM

Location:
Rogue Valley Mall
Across from Kay Jewelers, Lower level

The Friends of the Animals (FOTAS) Feline Fair is a partnership to help find purrfect homes for all felines in our community. Three cat rescue organizations (FOTAS, Rogue Community Cat Rescue, and Melly Cat Rescue) are participating. That means you’ll be able to visit plenty of felines from around the Rogue Valley!

All felines are friendly, vaccinated (initial doses), spayed/neutered, and come with a microchip – a permanent form of ID.

FOTAS Adoption fees:
* Kittens (under 6 months): $125 per feline
* Adults (6 months and older): $75 per feline

* PLUS Friends of the Animals will pay the 2nd adoption fee (2-Fur-1) if two cats/kittens are adopted together! That means that FOTAS will be picking up the second adoption fee! You get two adorable cats or kitties to bring home for the price of one. It’s a GREAT deal and your new companions will be happier too!

Do you like cats and kittens? Are you interested in learning what it takes to be a responsible cat owner and possibly even adopting one?

Please join us for this "Cat Cafe" that will feature cats and kittens from FOTAS .

The library will provide tea, coffee, hot chocolate and snacks for all ages, plus fun activities, including coloring and drawing stations, and information about the importance of taking care of our feline friends and ways you can be a responsible cat owner.

This event is fun for all ages, so stop on by with your family!

A recently-adopted FOTAS dog has gone missing from an Ashland boarding facility yesterday afternoon!

Penelope is a 45lbs Rottweiler mix. Black and tan. Very sweet, but scared and very fast. She is microchipped and wearing a collar with tags.

She was adopted last week, her new parents took her to the facility to test it out. She was not there long and was doing very well. When they moved her from one yard to the other, she hopped a fence and took off. She was last seen crossing I-5 near the weigh station between exits 14 and 19, east side
