ADOPTED!!!!!

Ok my friends, this precious mama kitty called Sugar needs a home. She is not spayed yet but we will schedule it. It will be paid for with the money that was given to me last year.
She is so loving.
She loves to cuddle and get attention.
She is protective of kids.
She loves meeting everyone that comes to the house.
She lets kids pick her up.
She puts up with the kids.
She may be a good inside outside kitty. She’s evidently has been on her own for awhile. Just a precious sweet girl! Call me at work if interested! 944 9495. Or PM me! She has been patiently waiting! We will spay her at no charge since we have a donation fund towards this.

Construction on the road by our clinic gives us us a different entrance so don’t be surprised. We also are doing roofing at the clinic. Bad timing, but it is what it is. So please be patient with us as we go through this mess. I’m guessing at least two more weeks. Thank you!

When ordering flea and tick and heartworm prevention online, one would think it is less expensive. Actually, after comparing, it is usually more expensive than our prices. We are the same price or cheaper on almost all those products. We also have rebates and with the SimplaricaTrio if you register, you will get a credit card for either $15$ for a six pack or $45 for a 12 pack to come back and spend at our clinic for anything. Bravecto and Intercepter Plus has rebates also. We appreciate every one of you who do make the effort to support all small-town businesses. This little nugget needs a new home. Smokey is a 5 year old neutered male, declawed in the front, up to date on shots. He likes toys,treats and he's vocal. Does chew on cardboard. Good around other cats. He's shy so he doesn't come around a lot of people. Can you open your heart to this sweet kitty?

Friends. I have taken in pets and rehomed them for years. I absorb the cost. I do have a few give me some money towards that. I appreciate it. But these last two pets who had gone thru horrible things were given to me to have Dr Porter treat and care for to get well. Both were in serious condition. Sadie on the right was within hours of death. She was found in a trailer that has been abandoned for maybe a week with no food,water or AC. Simba on the left was in terrible shape for being dumped on the side of the road and she wasn’t picked up for a long time, but recovered a bit faster. What is so amazing about these two is they carry no baggage from their ugly past and abandonment. They are happy and loving their new families! This time I am asking for donations towards the expenses we occurred. Chances of getting any $ from the former owners is zero. The bills we incurred for both is around 1100.00. If you find it in your heart to donate I would really appreciate it.

Hope for Tora

Fifteen years ago when I started reading about the No Kill movement for companion animals, I naively thought we should be able to save them all.

And here I sit, in 2023, still trying, but growing more weary by the day.

Just feet from me is a dog I’ve been walking regularly for the past couple of months. She’s a middle-aged female Akita named Tora.

Tora was and is one of the lucky ones. She had a home that loved her. After she injured another dog in that home, they held onto her while we tried unsuccessfully to find her a new home without kids or other animals. Eventually, Tora went to a local shelter and our rescue was given a timeline in which to pull her.

I called in a favor from a different shelter and I transferred her there, where she spent the next few months waiting for someone kind and brave enough to give her another chance at living in a home. And what a home it is! She is the only dog and her owner loves her dearly.

But, over time, she has become protective of her current owner, who has become a hostage in her own home. Training has been attempted, but the right person has to be holding the other end of the leash. And even though she’s perfect 98% of the time, that 2% has become a deal breaker. When an 85-pound dog bites or nips, it’s scary and dangerous.

Putting a dog like Tora back in a shelter or boarding is not in her best interest. She is stressed around other animals and shelters are all full right now anyway.

Tora’s current owner feels the right home might be out there, but thus far it has eluded us.

Tora needs:
A strong, alpha human;
A low-traffic home with no small children;
A space with no other animals;
A fenced-yard (privacy preferred) or someone willing to regularly exercise her on leash.

For the right adopter, her owner is offering to cover the cost for Veterinary care and dog food for the rest of her life.

If Tora is adopted within Lincoln, I am offering deeply discounted in-home pet sitting service.

Tora has lots of great qualities, but she’s running out of options and time. The fourth quarter clock is ticking, and this is my Hail Mary pass.

She’s been a blessing to my life, but I’d rather let her go peacefully, than set her up to fail. Serious inquiries only. Please share to increase her chances. Thank you for caring enough about Tora to read this.
