As we dive into the holiday season, we just wanted to share a few more tips to help keep your Christmas safe, cozy, and stress-free for everyone—including your furry family members!
Decorations 🎀: Tinsel, ornaments, and string lights can be oh-so-tempting for curious pets, but they’re a big hazard if chewed or swallowed. Keep these items well out of reach (or skip the tinsel altogether!).
Treats 🍪: Many favorite holiday sweets—like chocolate, grapes, raisins, or anything sweetened with Xylitol—are off-limits for our pets. Stick to treats made just for them so they can safely join in on the holiday cheer.
Christmas Tree 🎄: Make sure your tree is anchored securely, and try to avoid hanging breakable ornaments on those lower branches—especially if you have a cat who’s eyeing it like their own personal jungle gym.
Wrapping Paper 🎁: Ribbons, bows, and tape might look festive, but they’re a big no-no if swallowed and could cause an internal blockage if swallowed.
Candles 🕯️: Keep lit candles far away from curious noses and wagging tails to prevent unexpected burns or fires.
Plants 🪴: Poinsettias, holly, mistletoe, and lilies can be extremely toxic to pets. If you love having greenery around, opt for pet-safe options or place these holiday favorites out of reach.
A Quiet Spot 🛏️: Holiday gatherings can be loud and busy. Make sure your pet has a comfy, quiet place to retreat and relax when things get a bit too overwhelming.
Spread the joy, not the worry! Feel free to share these tips to help keep every pet safe and happy this holiday season.
