🎉 It’s National Vet Tech Week! 🎉
In honor of our amazing Veterinary Technicians, we want to spotlight the incredible work they do every day. So, what exactly is a Vet Tech? Simply put, they’re the animal world’s version of nurses—skilled professionals who have earned a college degree and passed a national board exam to obtain their credentials as Registered Veterinary Technicians.
But what does that mean in practice? A LOT! Vet Techs are responsible for a wide range of medical tasks, including drawing blood, placing IV catheters, intubating patients, performing cystocentesis, placing urinary catheters, administering sedatives, taking x-rays, giving injections, performing CPR, providing critical care, running anesthesia, and so much more! Not only do they master these tasks, but they also perform them across multiple species—dogs, cats, rabbits, goats, pigs, horses, cattle, and more.
Through long, demanding hours, Vet Techs ensure your pets receive top-notch care, educate clients, and most importantly, advocate for their patients when they can’t speak for themselves.
We’re so proud of our team and the incredible work they do, but this week, we want to give a special shoutout to our Registered Veterinary Technicians for all they do to keep our animals healthy and happy! 💙🐾
