“Rokko” and Deputy Gunnar Kennedy will be attending K-9 Training June 5 - 16, 2023, in Ashland, Ohio. They will receive their training at the K9 Working Dogs International.
“Creed” and Deputy Cristian Mayle completed their training on April 28, 2023, also at the K9 Working Dogs International.
“Rokko” is a veteran canine Deputy and worked under Corporal Paul Gonzales but Deputy “Creed” is new to the Department. Let’s welcome our K-9 Teams to our community!!!

(Credits applicable towards Official Advanced K9 Handler / or Master K9 Trainer Certification program)
For K9 Handlers with currently certified MP-PSD K9. Topics include: Advanced Tactical Tracking, Proper Patrol
K9 Deployment Tactics, to ensure an increased level of reliability and mitigate liability of Multi-Purpose Patrol
K9 Unit / SWAT Task Force K9 Teams.
Agenda: 10 Hours per day of field-work operational scenario training, 2 Hours per day of classroom / Case Law
Legal update lecture.

Official 2023 Legal-Updates on Tracking K9s and Patrol Dog usage, Use of Force, Agency/Handler Liability,
Courseware Manual, and Nationally Recognized formal Certificate of “Advanced K9 Training Course

We have a very exciting opportunity for anyone that has a desire to raise a puppy that will be given to a Police Department next year as a Police K9 Detection/Tracking dog that will work in the schools as a School Resource Officer K9. This puppy will be raised under our advice and guidance to best prepare her to have a fulfilling future keeping drugs and guns out of the schools!
