Occasionally we will get a new horse in the books that has a high grade club foot. Not only does this horse have a club foot but he also has a medial sheared heel. When we get a horse like this we will pull the shoe and trim the hoof, then leave the shoe off for a few days, trim again then put the shoe back on! You can see day one in the first image right after shoes were pulled and 3 days later and after the second trim. There is a lot of work to do still on this sheared heel but noticable improvement in just a few days.

This pretty pony was battling a hoof crack that turned out to be a thin track of infection traveling up the white line. With a little dremeling and shoe, the crack was opened up to allow air and treatment. Now we monitor and wait for hoof growth.

This club foot has a major growth line from a leg injury. This leg injury occurred before we started shoeing this horse so unknown if the injury contributed to a more significant club type foot or not. This is the horse's second shoeing with us. This foot will be monitored closely for hoof wall weakness/breaking around the event line as it grows out.

Start to finish, trimming a big foot with a hoof wall flare that is ripping off. Turned out pretty well! Could have trimmed a little more of the medial frog!
