In memory of Betsy who crossed over the Rainbow Bridge January 15, 2026. Our sympathies go out to Nancy Rung, Jane Pettijohn, and Deborah Dayton. It was an honor to be asked to care for your baby during this difficult time.

BETSY PETTIJOHN RUNG
January 15, 2026
She left this earth, January 15, 2026, three days before her 11th birthday. She was a full-bred, registered Dalmatian. Also, to her credit, she had passed the Therapy Dog International test.
She proved her value as a show dog in the conformation ring. She had many Best in Show Ribbons, many Reserve Best in Shows, and Group wins all over the country. She was a member of the Greater Pittsburgh Dalmatian Club Show and consistently won there.
She delighted in training in scent work and held titles in this. She also trained in Agility, Rally, and other dog sports.
Betsy and her owners, Nancy Rung, Jane Pettijohn, and Deborah Dayton, have been members of the Ashtabula Kennel Club and the American Kennel Club for many years.
This lively Dalmatian, Betsy Boo, will be missed by her family and friends. And she will be missed by Murphy, her adoring 7-year-old Miniature American Shepherd companion, who loved to follow her around to discover doggie fun where it was to be had. They had so much fun together.

ANNIE WAID
October 13, 2010 – January 13, 2026
Annie was always the biggest joy to anyone who saw her. She was a fierce and affectionate 4lb. Yorkie, but she always lived as a big dog, protecting and loving her people endlessly. She loved road trips to anywhere sunny where she would be finding the sunshine to lay. She was the biggest hit during her adventures to Cocoa Beach Florida with her mom, Renee and her dad, John. Anywhere she was, she would draw a crowd during walks and bike rides as there wasn’t a person who wouldn’t want to pet and love on her.
For her entire 15 years of life, Annie kept her unique long ear cut and was the belle of the ball in her sweaters and special collars, a truly beautiful girl. Her calmness, her love to simply be around her people and willingness to socialize with people made her the most special mans best friend. She lived a high life, eating fresh chicken, burgers and homemade spaghetti sauce every week of her life.
She will be missed by her entire family, but especially by her mom Renee, as Annie was her most loyal shadow, always right by her side. Annie’s loyalty, beauty and love will always be carried in everyone’s hearts.

DIPPY WIKER
January 9, 2026
Robert loved Dippy for 12 years. Dippy enjoyed her favorite bunny and going for rides. You would often see Robert pushing her in her doggy stroller in different local stores and restaurants.
Dippy was approximately 15 years old at her passing. She was also loved by her Aunt Sue, cousin Tammy, and good neighbor, Peggy.

CHLOE HOSTETLER

January 2, 2026

Chloe was a Greyhound/Whippet/Shepard Mix. She did not really have a favorite toy, but she loved to chase squeaker toys around and especially Kaela’s daughter baby toy balls. Chloe loved playing with her three other fur brothers and sisters (Boomer, Freddy and Ellie) as well as Kaela’s three year old daughter Oaklynn.
Chloes ABSOLUTE favorite thing to do was get down low to the ground and take off running. She loved it so much and she would go hours upon hours. Chloe was very protective over Oaklynn and Kaela, especially when men were around. Kaela got Chloe as a rescue as a gift for her mom. However, the second she took her from the environment she was in they had this bond with each other that could not be broken. Chloe was a very unique dog and they went everywhere together. She was very loving, protective, and overall the best dog you could ask for.

PANTHONY BONNETTE

September 18, 2014 – December 19, 2025

Panthony Bonnette died December 19, 2025, surrounded by love, after a long battle with multiple chronic illnesses. Panthony was born on September 18, 2014, the lone black cat in a litter of tabbies. He was a “failed foster”, meaning he was adopted by his foster mom. He and his foster mom had an instant bond, and it was clear almost immediately that they would be inseparable. A true Virgo, Panthony was an inquisitive, quiet soul. He enjoyed watching bird videos, chasing and jumping for his feather on a stick, and dunking glitter ball toys in his water dish.
Though he preferred things calm, he would be a good sport when his human siblings brought their friends over, letting them hold him and carry him around. Most of all, Panthony enjoyed being with his mom whenever he could and was her constant companion. The moment she sat down, Panthony would climb into her lap and position himself like a baby, purring contentedly. At night, he was so eager for snuggles that he would try to climb onto his mom’s chest before she could even situate the covers, which always made her laugh and hug him. He also enjoyed positioning himself like a scarf over his mom’s shoulders so he could try to stay with her while she did chores. Even as his body failed him, he followed his mom room to room just to watch her do human things.
On his very last night, he still made it to his mom’s chest to curl up and sleep. Panthony will forever be missed, as there is no one quite like him.

OREO ADKINS
Spring 2018 – November 6, 2025
Oreo slept with Diana and had to have all four feet wrapped around arm. Oreo waited for Diana to come home and then walked her from the car to the house.
Oreo loved to be around her grandson and play supervisor to any project she had going on. Diana will miss Oreo.

In memory of Duncan Merriman who crossed over the Rainbow Bridge September 25, 2025. Our sympathies go out to Steven and Brently Merriman. It was an honor to be asked to care for your baby during this difficult time.

DUNCAN MERRIMAN
February 28, 2008 – September 25, 2025
Duncan was a Yorkshire Terrier, and he was adopted in 2015 and spent the next ten years being spoiled with treats, toys and lots of snuggles. Prior to joining the Merriman family, he was grossly abused but still wanted nothing more than to be held and get belly rubs. He loved wearing sweaters, going for walks, and snuggling in bed. His favorite toy was Lambchop. He loved his humans more than anything in the world and constantly followed them around the house - even waiting at the door for his humans to come home from work. He leaves behind his owners, sister - Vexiblu, and brother - Finn. He was preceded in death by his sister - Hecate and his brother -Bextor.

LUNA MAE TURNER
December 17, 2025
Luna Mae has been a part of Alyssa’s family for the past three years. She came up to their porch one night and they have been inseparable since. Luna was always looking for cuddles or her favorite treats. Luna had the most unique meow and the prettiest blue eyes.
One of Alyssa’s favorite memories is when she would play with chalk while Luna sunbathed beside her. Luna improved her life and gave her a reason to be whole again. If she could tell her one more thing, she would tell Luna she is loved more than she knows. She will always keep her memory alive. Thank you, Luna, for always filling their lives with joy.

In memory of Bandit who crossed over the Rainbow Bridge November 21, 2025. Our sympathies go out to Michael Kelly. It was an honor to be asked to care for your baby during this difficult time.

BANDIT KELLY
October 22, 2011 – November 21, 2025
Born near Cincinnati, OH in 2011, Bandit Kelly (aka B, Bieber, Bieb’s, Buddy, Puppers) passed away peacefully in Jefferson, OH on November 21st at the age of 14. Bandit grew up in Columbus, OH after adopting a recovering journalist/photographer named Michael when (Bandit) was four months old. Graduating from the exclusive Chris Ricevuto Behavioral Academy at the young age of one-and-a-half, Bandit studied under the watchful nose of famed German (Shepherd) instructor Lola and became a "Find-It” champion. The experience shaped a personality that helped him rise in the ranks as a four-legged hotelier under the guidance of uncle/mentor John Raphael.

Work took the inseparable duo to New Orleans-Phoenix and back to Columbus again - often living at full-service hotel properties where Michael was assigned. Bandit’s was spoiled and loved by many team members, many along the way follow his Instagram handle “Hospitality Husky”. His favorite time was visiting EVERYBODY and ordering room service sampling bacon, or chicken and chasing tennis balls in empty ballrooms at night. He was also a regular at the Howlin’ Wolf Cafe (New Orleans), feasting on free ice cubes from the bartenders. His fur also doubled as nesting for many thieving birds who dive-bombed his tail while walking along Convention Center Blvd.

After leaving the hotel industry when he was six, Bandit returned with Michael to his media roots at a small radio station In Lorain County where he spent many hours in studio covering elections and often joined live programming. Trained in public etiquette, Bandit was able to re-discover his instincts to howl and sing. Most notably to themes for Law & Order SVU, Family Guy and Billy Joel’s “Piano Man”.

While in Lorain County, they briefly lived on a horse farm where Bandit took up (mini) horse racing in the arena and quickly made friends with all of the full-size residents. For three years, friend and Wellington-based realtor Lary Jameyson introduced Bandit to the perfect small town to bike, walk & run in Oberlin with many caring neighbors. A baseball fan, Bandit also moonlighted at minor league stadiums in Avon, Columbus and Florence, KY.

An avid athlete, Bandit enjoyed playing in packs with the other huskies at Columbus’ Alum Creek Dog Park, biking the street car lines of New Orleans, jogging along the Mississippi River, hiking the pet-friendly North Mountain in Phoenix, spending six hours at day care and riding in his Jeep with the top down and doors off, as well as looking at himself in mirrors. Bandit also enjoyed camping with the part-husky sisters S’mores & Marshmallow - Uncle Alden, Aunt Hil and Amari Udell, who also cared for him when dad was out of town. There were so many wonderful people who looked out for him over the years.

Late in life, beset by arthritis and injuries to his back, Bandit still enjoyed playing in snow, raising chickens in Southern Ashtabula County and managing a Hometown Auto Parts store. Big thank you to his friends at non-profit Joey’s Paw in Butler, PA for providing a wheelchair and specialized harnesses to assist in his mobility!! Same goes to his uncle, Rick Furman, for that last golf cart ride around Jefferson and to the fairgrounds to see the horses one last time!

Bandit was preceded in death by his little, big sister Bella. Half-brother Piper. Uncle’s Chase & Shaq and Grandma Kelly who thought he was the sweetest, well-behaved boy. Bandit also walked alongside Uncle T-Rail, passing away within days of each other.

Survivors include Michael (who sure misses his buddy), Granny, Datz, Aunt Jenny, his boy TJ, his girls Taylor and Tyrah who played the best hide and seek - and Molly, Granny’s dachshund who still hides bones (in case he comes over).

To honor Bandit’s memory, donations can be made to: Joey’s Paw, 301 Belmont Road, Butler, PA 16001.

You can also send unopened packages of hot dogs to Village of Gibsonburg, OH, c/o Marc & Pam Glotzbecker, to be re-distributed to nearby animal shelters. (They once gave Bandit so many hot dogs he pooped for days!!!!) I told you people loved him and spoiled him.)

GILLY GEORGE

July 24, 2014 – December 16, 2025

Gilly was one of the sweetest, friendliest cats. He had to be indoors only because he started to wander around the neighborhood and there were coyotes in the area. Gilly’s family had to keep him safe. Being indoors only did not seem to bother him. He would sit at the windows and watch the birds and get all excited about seeing them. His favorite toys were his own tail and a circular scratch pad with a tennis ball in a track.
Gilly went through a lot in his last months. He never reacted badly to anything that was done to him, whether it was surgery or days in the hospital. He was always just glad to get home. Home will not be the same without him there. Gilly will be missed by Gail.

JAX DAVIS

November 21, 2009 – December 11, 2025

Jax was a Shih-Tzu/Chihuahua and Jax was a Christmas present for Jimmy and their granddaughter, Isabel. Jax went trucking for three years and he traveled to 48 states. He has walked on every beach from West, East, and Southern Coasts of the US. Jax has been to casinos in Las Vegas and flown on airplanes.
After three years, he retired from trucking and stayed home. He barked like crazy when they left the house but loved it when they came back home. If you were sick, he would lay and stay right with you until you were feeling better. After moving to Ashtabula four years ago, Jax adjusted very well to their new home. Jax enjoyed laying in the sun and by the pool and sometimes would float on a raft, just for a few minutes. He loved to travel back to West Virginia to see family and friends. He was a wonderful traveler. Jax had the life of a king, and he will be missed every day.
