CUDDLES GOUDGE

11/14/2024

Cuddles was the sweetest 15 year old Jack Russell mix that you could have ever had the pleasure of meeting. She truly loved every person she encountered and was always willing to be a friend.
Cuddles came into Sharon’s life at two years old. Sharon had been grooming her sister Emma for a couple of years and cuddles would come along so she could trim her nails. At the time, Cuddles owners had fallen on hard times and had lost their home, and these girls were on their way to being turned over to the APL. One day before that was going to take place, Sharon decided to let them come to live with her instead. Only in time would she learn how lucky she was to have Cuddles be a part of her world. Sharon’s Aunt Diana had quickly fallen in love with Emma and being that these girls truly did not get along well, she adopted Emma and is still living her best life to this day.
Cuddles was definitely picky about her four-legged companions, but Gabby and her had always shared a special bond and Sharon can still see every day how much she misses her. Cuddles truly loved her Papa, but no one could hold a candle to the love she had for her daddy. Every afternoon, she would wait by the gate, gazing out at the door until she would finally see him arrive in the driveway. When he was home, she was always the happiest girl she could ever be. She loved him the best and he loved her too.
Cuddles was diagnosed with a collapsed trachea four years ago and they managed it well for a long time. But then she was also diagnosed with aggressive a**l cancer a year and a half ago. Between the two of them time had taken its toll, and they knew it was time to love her enough to let her go.
Even though Sharon’s heart is broken, she knows how truly lucky and blessed she was to have her as a part of her life for 13 years. Their home will forever miss the presence of her beautiful spirit and her unwavering love. They will miss today, tomorrow and forever with their special girl. Sharon says, “rest and run free, but always wait for me”. Sharon would like to give a special thank you to Dr. Dan for providing her with the most peaceful transition over that Rainbow Bridge.

In memory of Bella who crossed over the Rainbow Bridge November 3, 2024. Our sympathies go out to Tana & Mike Benetka and Kayleigh. It was an honor to be asked to care for your baby during this difficult time.

BELLE “BELLA” REESE BENETKA

1/1/2008 – 11/3/2024

Bella was the first fur baby of the Benetka family. Her family adopted her at eight weeks old and she instantly became the princess of the house. When she was a kitten, Bella would attack the feet of any house guests while they slept. During her kitten years, Bella and Kayleigh were the best buds, found together all the time. Bella would let Kayleigh carry her around and somehow knew to be careful as Kayleigh was just a toddler who loved her kitty a little too much at times. Her favorite toy was anything with catnip.
Bella grew up to be the matriarch of the house, the other cats would even let her eat first. She went crazy for any catnip toys and knew the sound of the container. She loved to sleep next to her mom, Tana, at night and absolutely loved having her belly rubbed. Bella had the sweetest quiet meow, but the loudest purr. Bella will be dearly missed by her family, but they know she is loving being with her sisters, Jasmine and Aurora again across the Rainbow Bridge.

AURORA JEAN BENETKA

10/11/2008 – 10/24/2024

Aurora was a part of the Benetka family from eight weeks old. She lived in three different cities but loved country living best. Aurora was part Basenji, a breed known to dislike cats, but she lived with five cats, and they were the best of friends. She could do many tricks in her younger years, the basic “sit” “lay down”, but also learned “roll over” “dance pretty” and “army crawl”. She would do all of them without instruction in a row, just to get a biscuit. Her favorite snacks were apples and carrots, but she enjoyed the occasional smokie from Trumbull Locker. Her favorite toy was a hedgehog stuffie.
She was a super-fast runner and the sounds of ATVs driving past the house would make her go crazy inside. She could hear Mikes’ Scion coming from down the road and knew he was almost home before mom did. She loved to cuddle, wear sweaters and play in the snow, but hated her doggie boots. Aurora’s family will miss spoiling their favorite pup but know that she is snuggling her cats Jasmine and Bella across the Rainbow Bridge.

LOLA ANN HOOD

11/16/2024

When Andy first met Lola, she was in a house that smelled like ma*****na. He came home and told Eva and they both decided on taking her into their home and giving her all the love she deserved. She came to live with them on July 13, 2024. She had a happy life with them. Her favorite toy was the paper towel roll. Lola bonded with Andy and Eva, their kids and especially with their miniature boarder collie. She loved head rubs and kisses on her head. She really loved being out of her cage. She would hop all over the house. She learned how to jump on the couch. Every night when it was bedtime, she wanted the dog to play with her.
Lola’s family consisted of two adults, dad, Andy Wayne Hood and mom, Eva Danielle Hood. Four children, sisters Alivia Bickel, Kylie Bickel, Maddy Lyn Bickel and brother Nolan Bickel. Three dogs, Daisy, Tammy and Mama and a leopard gecko, Purple Rain. She will never be forgotten and always remembered.

BABY POTTER

4/2/2024 – 11/11/2024

Baby’s life wasn’t the greatest. Unfortunately, she was a part of a backyard breading/hoarding situation. Her case actually came out in the Youngstown news. She, along with 21 other dogs were seized. She was repeatedly bred to have her puppies taken for money. She lived in a cage covered in f***s and urine and was rarely fed. When Baby came to William and Melissa, she weighed 38 lbs., heartworm positive, severe ear infections and skin infections. Needless to say, she was a mess.
They got her cleaned up, treated her heartworms and the various infections. She endured a three-hour surgical procedure to undo the scar tissue that developed her abdomen and partial mastectomy to remove breast cancer.
Despite the hard life she previously lived, Baby was the most gentle and loving girl anyone could’ve wished for. She was perfect in every way. Her favorite snacks were peanut butter cookies/sandwiches and pig ears. She absolutely loved everyone, except the guy from the water company. For some reason she didn’t like him, but you know what they say, dogs can pick up on things we can’t. No matter what, her loving disposition and gigantic heart she had so much love to give.
In the short time she was with them, she filled a hole in their hearts that they didn’t know needed filled. She completed their little family and instantly enriched their lives in a way that they didn’t know they needed. In a way she healed them as much as they helped her heal.
Baby was their little princess, and she was treated as such. There wasn’t anything that they wouldn’t do for her. With her skin condition, she had patches of fur that were missing, so they decided to get her clothes to help her heal and avoid her skin from being burnt by the sun. That opened up a whole new door for her. They quickly discovered she liked to dress up. And so, they dressed her up. From top to bottom, she had all kinds of shirts and dresses with their matching hair bows. Because her paw pads were sensitive from being burnt by the urine, they bought her shoes so her feet wouldn’t hurt while they went for walks. While most dogs fight or take the clothes and shoes off, not Baby. She would prance around proud, and she’d have this little strut and to say, “look at me”. She was such a pretty girl.
William and Melissa completely rearranged their way of life for her. They liked to travel and wherever they went (that they could take her) they made arrangements for her to come along with them. She has been to Chicago and strolled around with them at the Navy Pier. Everyone stopped them to take pictures of Baby. So many people wanted to be around her. She was so magnetic. It’s hard to explain, people just gravitated to her. They couldn’t walk more than a few steps before someone else would stop them, but they were ok with that. They had a chance to explain her story and encouraged people to rescue or adopt from rescue groups to give other dogs like her a fighting change.
On another trip she took, they went to Buffalo NY and then to Niagara Falls. They searched for a place to eat and called several local eateries that they thought were pet friendly till they came across one. They arrived at Frank & Thressa’s Anchor Bar, the home of the original Buffalo wings. When they got there, they expected to be sat on the patio or away from other patrons, but that was not the case at all. The host welcomed all of them inside the restaurant. The whole staff were so welcoming, and they all gravitated to Baby. The staff catered to her more than they did them. They brought her a bowl of water and when they placed their order, they ordered some chicken for her. Baby’s food came out before theirs did. But no matter what, everyone made sure she was taken care of. The next day they made their way to Niagara, and she got to see the falls and walked around looking at the sites. She was so curious about the geese it was hilarious the way she would try to get close to them and pounce around because she wanted to play.
It’s those little thing that Melissa and William hold close to their heart that make her passing even harder.

In memory of Stella Luna who crossed over the Rainbow Bridge October 28, 2024. Our sympathies go out to Greg and Lisa Anderson. It was an honor to be asked to care for your baby during this difficult time.

STELLA LUNA ANDERSON

7/2011 – 10/28/2024

“Stella” showed up in Greg and Lisa’s lives when he was about four weeks old. They originally thought “she” was a girl, so they named “her” Stella Luna. Not long after, they realized he was a boy and full of it, so they called him “Stella the fella, the kitten from Hella”. Stella’s “siblings” were mostly dogs, so he acted more like a dog than a cat. His favorite sport was to wrestle with Carbon and eat the dog’s food. His favorite toys were plastic lids, elastic hair ties, and a baby doll.
Stella had the loudest purr and loved to grab his family’s arm for attention and gave the best nose bops ever. He will be lovingly missed by his human family and by his fur siblings, Carbon and Baleigh.
A special thank you to Country Doctor for their emergency care of Stella.

SUGAR CORRON

11/11/2024

Heaven Sugar Angel was a sweet little Chihuahua that was a part of Desire Corron’s family for 14.5 years. She came to the family in 2010 at a year old. She grew up with her playmate, another little Chihuahua named Tea.
Sugar brought much joy to the family as she loved to lay in the sun, sunbathing herself. She brought laughter as she spent her days playing with Tea. Sugar was timid of people much of the time, but loved her truck rides everywhere. Sugar would lay on the drivers or passengers’ arm and the armrest of the truck door. She loved the truck so much that it was the only time she would become a guard dog, protecting the truck from anything and anyone.
Sugar loved her food. She would eat most anything given to her. The family nicknamed her “The Tank” while her playmate Tea was nicknamed “The Skeleton” since Tea did not like to eat very much.
As Sugar reached the age of 13 years old, her body began to fail her. She spent the last couple years being a tough little girl when she joined her friend Tea in doggy Heaven at the age of 15.5 years old. All the family members will greatly miss sugar.

GABBY VITALE

7/2012 – 10/31/2024

Gabby was a very laid back and relaxed fur baby. Her favorite toy was a small sunflower pillow. She just wanted to be next to her mommy wherever she was. Gabby would not even eat if her mommy was not home. She was very attached to her mommy. She liked to go outside with her daddy so she could walk around the yard. Lib and Angie are heart sick. As mommy told Gabby every single time she left the house and returned, “I Love You to the Moon and Back”.

TYMAN WALSH

October 3, 2014 – November 1, 2024

Tyman was a rottweiler/mastiff mix, and he was a great protector and a loving dog. He stayed with Wendie everywhere she went. He loved her kids and her grandkids. He was the best dog. Tyman’s favorite toy was a paper plate. He liked cuddling on Wendie’s lap with his head and front paws as if he was giving her a hug. Tyman is loved and will be missed greatly.

SAMANTHA (SAMI) BUCCI

January 13, 2010 – October 31, 2024

On October 31, 2024, Samantha (Sami) Bucci crossed the Rainbow Bridge. She died from complications of Cushing disease. She was not quite 15 years old.
Sami was a purebred red and white American Cocker Spaniel, born in Geneva on January 13, 2010. She was soon nicknamed “The Diva” by all who knew her. She loved people everywhere she went and always demanded their attention. Sami was purchased as a special gift for her owner Valerie Bucci by Carol and Skip Eller. Sami soon became Valeries soul mate. She was always there through good times and tough times for her owner. They were truly best friends.
Sami and her sister Mallory loved having their pictures taken with the Easter Bunny and Santa Claus at the mall. This was just about every year. Sami also participated in a fashion show for the Christopher and Banks store at the mall. Sami and Valerie wore matching sweaters.
Sami will truly be missed by her family and friends. She was preceded in death by her sister Mallory and her favorite Uncle Skippy. She is survived by her dog mom Valerie Bucci, her dog aunt Carol Eller, her fur brother Cooper and her fur cousin Bella.
The family would like to send a special thank you to the entire staff at Edgewood Veterinary Hospital for the care she received during her illness. They were so compassionate. Her family knows that Sami is with her sister and uncle in Heaven. Heaven now has a new little fur angel.

THOMAS RODRIGUES
March 19, 2016 – October 8, 2024
Thomas was eight years old when Monica took him in, and he had been living in a shed. Every time they came back from the store, Thomas would go through all the bags to find his tuna. When they made chicken for dinner, he would scream at you until he got some. His favorite toy was his little stuffed blue bear. He is loved and missed by everyone in the family.

ASHER BELL (GCHS O’Charida’s The Son Also Rises BN RI CGCA TKN)

May 24, 2015 – September 28, 2024

Asher passed peacefully in his home on Saturday, September 28, 2024, with his “people”, Rita Bell, David Bell, and Kathryn Bell around him. Asher also loved and was loved by family members, Stacey Bell and James Bell.
Asher was an ultimate show dog, finishing his AKC championship at age nine months. After taking a short time to do field work and grow up, he went on to win many Bests of Breed and Sporting Group 1sts and placements and quickly became a Silver Grand Champion. Asher also enjoyed working in Obedience and Rally, earning titles in both. He also earned titles as a Canine Good Citizen and Trick Dog. His show career was interrupted by COVID, when dog shows were cancelled.
Asher grew up in a house with his father, Phoenix, who loved him and taught him any things. When Phoenix passed, Asher became the man of the house as an “only dog”. He served not only as a protector, but as a wonderful companion, being like having another person who could understand and communicate. Asher was diagnosed with cancer, and after being given two to three months to live, he survived another ten months. He put up a valiant fight, but eventually succumbed to his illness. Asher was loved so very much and always will be, and he will be missed forever.

Donald and Dianne went to the rescue facility looking for a dog and saw his sad eyes. He loved to play with his sister Sadie. His favorite toys were tennis balls. His favorite thing to do was to play ball. He was very sweet and lovable.
