Providing a safe, clean, comfortable environment for the animals of Aspen, as well as those here on vacation. We shelter the occasional bird and rabbit as well.

The Aspen Animal Shelter is a privatized, self-sustaining animal rescue that combines a boarding kennel, a grooming salon and a pet shop to generate the income needed to provide sanctuary for the homeless dogs and cats of Aspen, Pitkin County and beyond. Every homeless pet is neutered, vaccinated and microchipped prior to adoption. We are open every day of the year from 7:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. W

ASPEN ANIMAL SHELTER

Sam is a 9-year-old Pitbull mix who has lived at the Aspen Animal Shelter for the past 7.5 years. She is great with all people, including children, but can be aggressive with most dogs, including all females. Through trial and error, we have discovered that Sam often accepts large, stable, male dogs. Fortunately, Sam has a new friend in Erol, who is a 2-year-old Akbash / Siberian Husky mix. Erol is friendly with people and other dogs, but likes to climb fences as high as 8' tall. Both dogs will require extremely responsible, knowledgeable homes.
