Meet the gorgeous Turk! He is named Turk, because he has the most beautiful turquoise eyes that will melt you. Turk is 3 years old (DOB 01/18/2021) and is about 65 pounds of love. His DNA results show he is a Pitsky! Pitbull/Husky mix. He is sweet, energetic yet a calm good goofball of a boy. He loves his crate but he loves kids more, he is amazing with them! He does great with other dogs and loves to play. NO cats! He is athletic and can jump a fence if left alone too long. He is great in the car and loves to be with his person. Such a sweet, sweet fella! Turk is current on all his vaccinations and is neutered. He is currently in a loving home in New Castle, CO, ready to meet his new family! LuckyDayRescue.org to apply

Bucky is looking for some wide open spaces to run & play and just enjoy the freedom. He’s a handsome 2-3 year old Lab or Hound mix, a perfect size, around 50 pounds. He’s great with people and after a proper introduction, loves other dogs, his toys, treats and walks. Mostly he loves hiking or running. Bucky is an excellent adventure buddy for an active person or family. He’s super smart and would also make a great ranch dog. Up to date with his vetting, neutered and microchipped…move in ready! SENIOR KITTY NEEDS A WARM LAP, and a new home for the Holidays!

Moe is a super friendly cat that would be very happy to lay in someone’s lap all day long. He is about 18 years old, but still very young at heart, and without any health issues. Moe is very talkative and has been an indoor / outdoor cat previously, but he has been indoors only now for a couple of years. He does love to go out and lay on the porch to sunbathe. Moe is probably not great for a multi cat or dog household, but he has always had at least one dog, and does great with that. Moe’s perfect fit would be someone who is looking for a highly affectionate kitty that has plenty of time to give him the attention he deserves. ARRIVED!
Kip and Nash, two handsome brothers got a ride to CO and are now ready for their forever homes. Nash has a pending adoption. Kipp, this beautiful puppy looks like an Australian Shepherd mix (vet records say Flat Coated Retriever) with a gorgeous grey merle coat. He is now in CO and ready for his forever home. He is such a special boy, very loving and wants nothing more than to be with his person. Excellent companion. He is great with other dogs and loves to play! Kipp has such a sweet demeanor and wants to please. He is easy to train as he is food motivated but will need someone to show him the world and someone who has the time to train him. He doesn’t pull on the leash but he hasn’t yet learned to walk by your side. Kipp is house trained and so far not a chewer but is still a puppy! He loves to sleep in the bed with his foster mom and is a great snuggler. We would love to find him a home with an active person who has lots of time to spend with him. This fella is a true gem! Meet the precious Mack ! This handsome puppy is about 15 weeks old and full of all things good. He is currently about 18 pounds, he is still pretty small! Mack is a Queensland Blue Heeler mix (could very well be a purebred!), smart, cuddly, playful and a great companion. He is super affectionate and wants ALL the love! He is highly trainable, typical to the breed. He has been around lots of other dogs, cats, chickens and larger farm animals, so lots of good exposure. He will do best with someone who wants a daily exercise buddy and is able to provide mental stimulation as he is so smart and loves to learn. This guy is a total character and will delight you with his happy energy. Crate trained and almost potty trained. LuckyDayRescue.org to apply. He is currently in a loving foster home in Carbondale. Missing you Gail, thanks for saving so so so many animals over the years, I loved being on your team! Angel was the last dog we worked on together, how appropriately named... you are both Angels!

Gail and I bonded over dogs and rescue but also over the loss of our husbands at the same time. I will miss her as a rescue partner but also as a friend. SPAY AND NEUTER!

Perhaps our most powerful focus of our mission is reducing the numbers of unwanted and unexpected animals. Rescues and shelters are overwhelmed and in crisis. There is simply not enough room and not enough homes. We must do more to prevent this suffering.

Affordable spay and neuter options are critical in underprivileged areas with lack of vet resources. Lucky Day has made this a priority since 2014 to assist with supporting these efforts to present options for owners to help their beloved pets as well as assist with wandering and feral cats.

We partner with veterinarians and mobile units in Colorado, New Mexico, and Arkansas and are so honored to report that over 11,500 surgeries have been sponsored or subsidized since we began this program! And we plan to report even more at the end of 2024!

Wow! We are working now to see how the matches are coming along! Thank you!

EDUCATE!
An important part of Lucky Day's mission statement is education.

Not only do we offer to be a contact for care and thoughtful transitioning of an animal into a new home but also hope to help with resources.

Additionally, education plays a broader reaching role as we hope to inspire our future generations with empathy and safety! We are excited to be working on new relationships for children's books as well as sessions about safety and animals.

Thanks to a generous donor in late 2024, we have been able to commit to continue our veterinary technician scholarship at Colorado Mountain College in 2025! We understand the importance of supporting education for animal welfare and well being and are thrilled to invest in the future of animal welfare and our community.

Happy Colorado Gives Day 2024!! Reminder that we have a generous $7,500 match gift through today!!

RESCUE!! The main program and what started Lucky Day was the passion of a small group to help animals in need. Our small organization has placed OVER 1500 animals into new homes since we began!

Beautiful Ocie, in our photo here, came to us and kicked off 2024 by birthing NINE beautiful and HUGE puppies! They are all in loving homes now. Their medical needs were fully supported by donations to Lucky Day from the 2023 Colorado Gives Day and we are grateful! Good mama! Now she lives her life with a beautiful family and no more puppies to worry about!

Determination and creativity and your support keep us going! Old and young, big or small, medical needs... all deserve a chance at a loving, forever home.
