Chinese Lunar New Year
Kemmerer Village had the opportunity to learn and celebrate the Chinese Lunar New Year for Group on 1/29/25. Ms. Kaylee, one of our 2nd shifters in Allemang Cottage, researched the traditions and reasoning for the celebration and presented it to the kids. She let the kids know each of their animal signs and they watched a couple of videos of the dragon dances and took part in some of the traditions. Each of the kids was given a Chinese New Year Reward for a prosperous new year. For dinner the Home Services Staff served noodles and dumplings, which is also a symbol for having a prosperous new year. The kids enjoyed this opportunity to learn about another culture. A big thanks to Ms. Kaylee for researching and presenting this information and to the Kitchen staff for fixing the meal.
