you with appointment settings, prescription refills and any other questions or needs you have relating to your pet. is a 1986 graduate of the University of Pennsylvania, School of Veterinary Medicine. He holds a Master’s Degree in Biological Sciences from Drexel University and earned his Bachelor’s degree for Florida Institute of Technology. Dr. Syken served on the Executive Board of the Veterinary Medical Alumni Society at Penn from 1989-1996 and was president of the board from 1995-1996. He has been involved with companion animal practice since 1980.

We are now recommending annual bloodwork for all pets over the age of seven. It is not required, but will help us diagnose potential issues sooner and provide baseline results should your pet become ill. All clients with pets over the age of seven will start to see these reminders.

We are excited to tell you that we now have NexGard Plus in stock for your dog. NexGard Plus combines the protection of Heartgard and NexGard into one chewable treat. In addition, the once-a-month preventative helps protect your dog from hook and roundworms.

Since it also protects against heartworms, it is important that your dog be up to date on their annual heartworm test. We cannot sell you NexGard Plus if your pet has not had a heartworm test in the last 12 months. If you are unsure if you are up to date or would like to make an appointment for a heartworm test, please give us a call.

We will be phasing out our stock of NexGard and Heartgard. When our current stocks are depleted, we will not be ordering any more. You may still order it from elsewhere and we would be happy to approve the prescriptions, but we will no longer stock those two items in our office.
