I completely forgot to post this, but back in October, our friend, Sarah, who has been working with our horses during the late summer, was able to saddle up Katrin and go through some motions with her! Sarah had sent me the video and gave me permission to post it here. And while the video isn't the whole thing, Sarah did work on flexing, and backing up and stuff! Both of them did great!
We are a little late in the training on this but better late than never! This video is our first attempt at introducing Agro to the horse trailer and we were pleasantly surprised! 😊
The mares enjoying the weather after the rain rolled through. Featuring Mystery, Mira, Zevada, May, and Cheyenne!
The other day I took Katrin through my little desensitizing obstacle course! She only just tolerated the noodles but otherwise did just fine!
Don't mind the muddy horse, she rolled right before my dad took this video.
Tyr was nice enough to demonstrate some of the obstacles I put together today!
Captured this moment the other day when we moved Tyr to the round pen. It was a very windy day that day but he still was showing off for the fillies!
It's been raining on and off for the last several weeks and boy do we have a lot of mud to show for it. It's hard to keep the horses out of it and it's even harder to deliver hay to their respective areas. Today, the paddock that Katrin, Elena, and Agro were in was just too much and we had to get them out of there. Normally we reserve the front pasture for later spring/ early summer to give the grass a chance to grow, but today we turned these three out there so they could get a break from the mud. You can see in the video that it's still misty out, but the forecast is saying we'll get a break from the rain soon. In the meantime, enjoy these three running about!
We had someone come out with a backhoe today and dig a final resting place for Kohana. Sure beats digging it by hand. The other mares were looking on as Kohana was laid to rest. I'd like to think they were paying tribute to her. Katrin stood closest at the fence line, and I know she's going to miss her sister the most.
Pardon the mud but enjoy the chaos! These two colts (Kronos and Heimdall) are tearing it up today!
Also, these two lovely boys are still available for your consideration!
