🚨IS ANYONE MISSING A SPICY LITTLE NUGGET?!🚨

Found tangled in a net around the 600 Block of Riley Street overnight, the vets will sedate it so we can cut it free. Does anyone recognize this little fireball? Even if it’s a neighborhood stray, I would love as much information as possible, especially if it is someone’s pet! Please share!

Who remembers this handsome guy?

While Max was adopted by someone after his owner passed away, she is now faced with a hard decision, and that is to try to find Max a new home. Below is her statement and all the information she has learned from Max since she took him in.

“He is such a fun loving dog. He loves to play fetch. He will also happily play with his toys by himself, throwing them up in the air and then catching them. I will try and catch a video of him doing it. While he has a good amount of energy, he also loves his down time to cuddle. He is very much a Velcro dog in every sense of the word. He follows me around as I do chores and will curl up where ever he can find a spot.

He loves to interact with his dog housemates as much as me. He is very food motivated and has been working on his leash walking, recall, and other basic skills with great success, with treats as positive reinforcement. He loves a good brushing.

He needs a patient soul who will give him the space to grow and the love he deserves. He has interacted with lots of adults and has warmed up to all of them. Treats are a great icebreaker for meeting new people. He does best when people allow him his space and allow him to approach them rather than the other way around. When he first came to me he snapped a few times out of fear as he backed away to give himself space. He gives a slight growl beforehand and when listened to, has not snapped, he just backs up to give himself space. When not listened to, he snapped as he backed up. He has never bitten anyone or lunged at anyone while I have had him.

While he has allowed kids to pet him, he needs to go to a home without kids as he jumps a lot and needs people around who understand his specific needs. He is sensitive around his head with strangers due to the injuries he had previously, but as his trust builds with his human he has allowed me to pet his head. He does not have a lot of experience in cars. Windshield wipers scare him and he barks a lot. We have been able to have some better rides with treats and a toy he can chew on when he is nervous. We are making small progress each time. He is also a fence hopper. Always finds his way home but very good at hoping shorter fences. He is neutered, up to date on all shots, and is on preventative medicine for heartworm, fleas, and ticks.

I recently had to take a trip for work and had to leave him home with someone to stop by and take care of him and my other dogs. When I got back I could tell my time away had stressed him out. I unfortunately will have to travel more for my new job making this a more frequent event. While my other dogs who feel more secure and confident handle my travel well, it was a lot for Max since he tries to work on building the confidence and trust in people to overcome his background.

Additionally, my oldest dog has started to become less tolerant of Max. While I monitor them and ensure they have time apart, her snappiness at him causes Max stress as he doesn't know why she is upset at him.

He really would do best in a home where the people are around more and they have one confident dog to help him continue to build his confidence. I have continued to reach out to rescues, but still no luck on my end.”

WINNIE FOR THE WIN!

Winnie went home today! Her new family drove all the way from Omaha, Nebraska to meet her, and she knew right away they were her people when she was let out into the yard to meet them. I became chopped liver🤣

We played with her in the yard for at least 20-30 minutes to burn some energy and then they loaded this wonderful girl up and they hit the road. Thank you for adopting and I wish you all a long and happy life with my sweet girl. I am so happy you found your furever home Winnie!🐾💕

He is going to be caught by someone familiar to him and they will get him to the vet!

HELP! Does anyone recognize this cat?

This poor tripod definitely needs help but we need to see if its owner is missing him or if anyone can help! Someone had to have had it at some point for it to have that leg amputated, but it is in rough shape and needs medical attention. This is in the area of South 7th and Y Street, near the convent. The finder tried to pick him/her up and they got away.

What else ages like fine wine and is always in the mood for a stroll?

Rupert! Rupert is my dashing old man and hes ready to live his best life with you! We are putting Rupert between 6-7 years old which makes him the oldest pup in my kennel. Rupert loves butt scritches and cuddles. He does the cutest little tappy taps when you scratch his butt!

Rupert does great with females, but after being attacked by a male dog, he needs a home where he’s the only male dog. I do not know how he does with cats, but we would be more than happy to do a safe meet and greet to see how he reacts.

Rupert does pull on his leash, but could be great doing his own thing and zooming around a fenced in yard! He loves stretching his legs out in ours. He is scared of crates and storms, and craves more attention than he gets here.

Jok is the absolute biggest sweetheart and looks so handsome in red❤️

Jok is still looking for a new family after his last one surrendered him. He’s getting overwhelmed in the kennel, but yard time helps him get away from all the loud noises. Where are my boxer-mix-loving people at?!

Oakley is looking for her perfect Valentine! 💝 She is 5-6 years old and just wants your love. She came to my kennel emaciated, as you’ll be able to see in the last photos, so we are working on putting weight on her. She does well with other dogs, but would need to be fed separately as she still guards her food from other dogs and scarfs it down as if it could be taken away at any moment. But she will let me take it away or put my hand in her food, so she’s just worried other dogs may take it from her.

Oakley is a gentle giant that needs to learn not to jump. She does it to hug and get loved on, but she is over 80 lbs and may be a bit heavy for some. She tries to be careful when doing it, but please keep in mind she’s a big girl with a heart to match her size!

Oakley hasn’t been spayed yet but can be as soon as someone shows interest in her pretty face. She takes treats gently and loves to give kisses. Someone that used to know her (not her abuser) said that she was around newborns up to a four year old and would lay by them calmly! She vouches that she has always been a sweet girl!

He’s heading home with his new family that includes a sweet little boy and two furry brothers. 🚨URGENT PLACEMENT NEEDED🚨

UPDATE: He has a meet and greet tomorrow morning to see if he’s a good fit for someone!

This is Jordan. He needs to find a new home that he is welcome and that allows dogs. The original owner thought she found a safe place for him but now they are threatening to dump him as they are being threatened with eviction for having him.

Jordan is a year and two months. He is a mixed breed between 50-60 lbs. He needs an updated rabies vaccine and he is intact, but he is so sweet! He loves cuddling and playing with other dogs and people. He’s been raised around kiddos, dogs, cats, and even bunnies! He likes sitting in chairs as if he were human!

Jordan pulls a bit on his leash but he’s just excited to go outside and go potty. He lets you know when he needs to go out. PLEASE HELP US FIND HIM A HOME. I will be helping to find him a SAFE home, so if you hoard or flip animals, please don’t message me, I will make sure that does not happen to this guy.

I have been unable to reach Jax’s owner, so unfortunately I believe he has changed his mind..

Meet Jax

We don’t know much about him, except that he was saved from an abusive owner and is now quite scared of women. The folks taking care of him now are doing a good job at keeping him safe and they now have a crate for him inside the home, but they want to find him a new home.

Jax is a big boy and will pull on his leash. I’ve visited a couple times and so long as his dad is there, he will eventually come up and try smelling me so long as I don’t look at him. He looks to his dad for safety and comfort when there’s women around. He doesn’t really like the crate, so I’m not sure if there’s some bad memories there too, but I think with praise and positive reinforcement, he could learn that a crate is a safe space.

Jax needs to be neutered and vaccinated. I’m going to ask around about low cost clinics that we can get him into, so hopefully he will come vaccinated and potentially neutered. Meet Charlee!🤎

Charlee is around a year old and is looking for a foster or her furever home to help show her what love is. She was an owner surrender and they wanted nothing to do with her in her first year of life. Her eyes speak volumes and despite the sadness you see there, she is one of the sweetest girls ever. She loves getting cuddled and enjoys doing so on a nice pile of blankets!

Charlee was spayed this week and is ready to go home! She did well playing with Star, another young dog. They ran around and enjoyed being near one another, but Charlee doesn’t like playing rough. She didn’t know how to correct Star, so after a few times watching her avoid Star, I ended the play time on a good note.

Charlee is up to date on her vaccines, spayed and microchipped! She is looking for someone to show her a wonderful life and help her gain confidence, while loving her unconditionally.
