Are You A De Facto Animal Shelter (Thank Managed Intake) (Blog #3)

Let’s answer the obvious question first: What is a de facto animal shelter? It is in fact, or in effect, whether by right or not, where a person or organization acts as an animal shelter. They do not have a “shelter” designation. There is no word “shelter” in their name. They don’t have the financial support of a shelter. They don’t have paid staff. But this is the reality when animals have been turned away from the real animal shelters.

What are Angie’s Stray Foundation volunteers doing today (Josie Davis & Jenifer Warren)? More spay / neuter runs. We are working with Scallywags Animal Rescue to help get more kittens healthy and ready for adoption! Veronica Cruz at Scallywags is saving so many lives!

Also, a shout out to Meg (3rd pic). Meg is a boots on the ground rescuer. She works tirelessly to prevent more kittens from being born feral and to get the kittens that are here into rescue. She is a wealth of knowledge and has seen and done so much when it comes to caring for sick and injured cats and kittens. Meg, ambassador for the cats and kittens, we thank you! 💕🐈‍⬛🐾

What are Angie’s Stray Foundation (Oxford, PA) Foster Volunteers doing? Yesterday our foster Marie made a four hour trip transporting 10 kittens to the ElkCreek Vet and then dropping a litter of kittens at one foster and medication at a 3rd foster. Along for the journey she had her four foster assistants. As you can imagine this was quite a day for all involved. Without volunteers like Marie, we couldn’t have brought these kittens into rescue. Thanks Marie and family for your dedication to saving these precious lives!
