ATTENTION CLIENTS - current, former, future, blacksmiths, veterinarians, EVERYONE. I'm toying with the idea of hosting a podiatry clinic. This clinic will focus on the horses that have not responded to proper balanced shoeing or mild corrective shoeing. Crushed heels, quarter cracks, contracted heels, navicular syndrome, laminitis, recurrent abscesses, etc. The tougher the better.
I have an acquaintance that has partnered with a veterinarian to develop a therapeutic line of shoes. There are currently 3 types, depending on the issues at hand. They are willing to come to the area (Athens/Sayre PA) and share their knowledge and skills with us if there is enough interest. Below is the statement when asked "describe the shoe and what it does".
"It has all the biomechanics of a therapeutic clog in a mini speed version. The shoe activates the sole architecture the same as barefoot and allows the horse to determine its position. I like using on bad footed but servicibaly sound horses. The feet get better through the cycle."
We will need horses to demonstrate the shoes and application process. We will also welcome auditors. And if there is anyone wishing to audit and then schedule a private session for the following day, we can work that out as well.
Participation fees and audit fees will be worked out once I see how much interest there is. Please let me know if you are interested. And in what capacity (participant vs. demo horse vs. auditor).
The shoes will also be available for purchase for anyone interested. Thank you in advance.
